From Worthy President Gary Sound Transit vote an all-in turn down Thank you to all the Brothers who came to the Aerie on Saturday, September 16 for the vote regarding the Sound Transit offer. It showed our solidarity of 132 Brothers to unanimously vote down their offer. And thanks to the Sisters who stood in support of us, as well. The Relocation Board is continuing to search out feasible locations to be our new Aerie home and any new information will be posted as we move forward from here. PUYALLUP FOOD BANK This year my special project will be the Puyallup Bank. Along with my committee, we will be organizing an ongoing donation of food and money to help those in our community in need. Money donations go further to aid, and can be placed in the Aerie Secretary s mail slot at the office. 100% of money donated will go to this charity. We will also have a barrel set out in the foyer for the food donations from October 1 through December 31. BROTHERS, PLEASE COME BACK With some of our Brothers being dropped from membership last month due to lack of renewal, it is my hope that many of you will encourage them to re-enroll and come back to enjoy the benefits, as well as the good will that we do. I would like to invite you to attend the Aerie meetings held the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 7 p.m., and to the many events throughout the coming months. As a beautiful summer comes to a close and fall is upon us, we look forward to many fun events coming up for October. The first weekend in October is Fall Conference to be held at the Auburn Aerie, on Friday, October 6 through Sunday, October 8. This is a good time to focus on Membership and come together with other Auxiliaries Sisters and Aerie Brothers in the state to learn and grow. Saturday, October 14 will be our 2nd Annual Oktoberfest Celebration! A full day of fun activities is planned starting at 11 a.m. and going until closing, so come on down and enjoy the festivities! On Wednesday, October 18, the Auxiliary will be doing a cake walk after the Aerie meeting. We hope to get lots of donated goodies for this event. Then on Friday, October 20, there will be a meat raffle from 4:30 to 7 p.m. with proceeds going the Auxiliary Building Fund. Ending up the month, on Saturday, October 28 is the Annual Kids Halloween Party from 1 to 3 p.m. with a carnival theme. There will be games, goodies and prizes for all the kids 12 and under to enjoy. Then the adults can come down in the evening for the Halloween costume party and dance to the Rock & Roll Magic band! We always need volunteers to help with these events so we can continue to serve our members, our families and our charities! Thanks and I hope to see you soon! I will be selling Boobie Pins for $2 each. They are, as the name implies, pins with tata s on them. It is a reminder to take care of them. After all, who s not fond of them? I will also have a basket placed out on the front desk with little bottles, decorated in pink. Please feel free to pick one up, fill it with loose change and then turn it in to the bar, or Loni, or Bob or myself. This will be Change for a Cure and will go into the Aerie and Auxiliary Cancer Fund. Lots of help needed for Holiday Bazaar We are just days away from our annual Holiday Bazaar on Sunday, November 5. We still need volunteers to help man our popcorn and bake sale tables, as well as raffle and dinner tickets before and on the day of the event. Also needed are two teams of two to put our street advertisements up at designated spots on either Thursday, November 2 or Friday, November 3. I am only asking for a couple of hours of your time for these tasks. This is the biggest money maker of the year for our Auxiliary so let s all work together to make it a success. Our bake sale is always well received and sells out, so bakers put on your aprons and bake your favorite goodies whether it be candies, cookies, pie or any other delicious concoction! Only homemade goods are being sold this year. Please, no store-bought Our third fun event is a Bra Decorating Contest! Get out those not-so-comfortable bras and put them to good use. Use your imagination and bling them up. Drop them off in a bag with my name, and we will hang them in the lounge for the month. I will have a box, with paper, so you can vote on them. The winner will be announced on Tuesday, October 31st at 7:30 p.m. A gift certificate to the club will be given to the winner! All three events will run from October 1 through 30. Our raffle has some super gifts a wooden bench, free-standing yard planter, $100 and an array of baskets, so buy your tickets for $1! This is a full day of fun starting with our Past Presidents. The 60 vendor table Bazaar starts at 9 a.m. and lasts until 3 p.m. The raffle drawing will be held between 2:30 and 3p.m. Chili dogs will be served between 1 1a.m. and 2 p.m., as well as popcorn.
