There will be many events coming up. We hope to see you all there for them. Check out the calendar for the Tom & Jerry Party, closed dates and much more. Can you believe the year 2017 is almost over? Where has the time gone? We have so much to be thankful for this year. Thank You to brother Bill and sister Phyllis Bancroft for the great dinner for the homeless Veterans. They raised over $ for this charity. Good Job!! Another thank you to brother Blaine Shrum for continuing to bring us great shows like the Veterans day comedy show and honoring the Veterans that were able to be there that night. Many don t know that tickets were bought for a few of the homeless veterans for that night but they were not able to leave and enjoy a nice haircut, clean clothes, a free hot dinner and a show that night because they would lose a place to sleep if they were not back by 7:30 pm. We need to do more for these guys. The roof leaks have all been fixed. That is a good feeling now onto other repairs. The trustees do all they can to make things work. On another note We are not broke but we re also not rolling in the dough either. Thank you to all who are going the extra mile to help run this place this board could not do it without your support. We will be throwing a Volunteer party on December 23rd. It will be a finger food, gift exchange and a lot of FUN! FUN! FUN! It is also a time to reflect on all the events we have done for our community, our club, and the money raised for the supported charities of the Kennewick Eagles. It has been a year of growth and I hope we continue on a successful path as we head into As you scoot your chair up to a holiday table this season, I wish for you cherished memories. The ones that make you smile and hold dear in your heart. I also wish all my Brothers and Sisters the opportunity to make more memories with the ones you love. Thank you, Merry Christmas, and have a blessed holiday season. Fraternally yours, Kyle Strong Worthy President Starting in December, Our meeting nights will change to the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month, opposite the Aerie, which are the 1st and 3rd. Tuesday. Friday, December 1st Rebecca will be cooking French Dip, a jus, and salad for $10.00 with a minimal charge for a desert buffet. This fabulous meal has it's proceeds going to the Cancer fund. On December 12, Tuesday, the ladies Auxiliary will have their Christmas party. We will be wearing our Christmas best or worst, snacking on appetizers and doing a white elephant exchange with the gifts we bring ($10.00). Join us. We will have fun. Our last December meeting will be Tuesday the 26th. We are down 33 members, so if everybody signs up one new member each year,we could replace those we have lost. Auxiliary dues are only $2.00 a month and that's like buying 2 bottles of water. 3 We delivered 25 Thanksgiving Food Baskets. If you have a name of a family that is in need please write down the name, phone number, and address on a piece of paper, put into an envelope and give it to the bartender and we will, see what we can do to help them for the Christmas Baskets. Thanks to all who helped make this happen. There is a lot that of time, money and effort that goes into getting the food baskets put together and delivered. It takes many people to make it work. Thanks to Highlands Middle School staff. It is great partnering up with them. They have helped so much this year. Thanksgiving has been a great success, as we hope Christmas will be as well. If you still want to donate money to the food baskets it isn t too late. Just take your donation to the bartender and they will give you a receipt and get it to Pam to put in the food basket fund. Thanks to everyone who participated we were able to raise $ to benefit the Auxiliary Cancer fund. A very heartful thank to the generous anonymous donor( s) who donated $ to help us achieve this. Thank you Clarine Watkins for your help and all of the wonderful handmade pies. Lets kick Cancer to the curb. As we enter the snow season, the club has a little more cushion for paying our bills should the club have to close due to bad weather. That is in part to all of you and your continued support at the events here at our fabulous KENNEWICK EA- GLES! Remember; we may not have it all together, BUT, together we have it all! As we head into this new year, build someone up. Put insecurities to sleep. Remind each other we are worthy. Tell your friends and families you love them and they are magical. 4 REAC NEWS ANNUAL TOM AND JERRY PARTY SUNDAY, DECEMBER 17, P.M. 3 P.M. COME TO THE CLUB AND CELEBRATE THE HOLIDAY BEFORE THE COUNTRY SUNDAY DANCE BEGINS WITH A TOM AND JERRY OR HOT BUTTERED RUM (Limit of 2 per person) WITH FINGER FOODS (Retired Eagles Activity Club) MEETING: Thursday, December 14, 2017 TIME: 4:00 p.m. WHERE: Eagles Lodge 2017 is coming to a close and it is time to nominate officers for the 2018 year. We will also finalize our plans for the 2017 Tom and Jerry party that REAC has taken responsibility for. The proceeds of $ from the Halloween dinner provided by Sally Herker on October 27th have been given to the Aerie to be used for stove repair. The sale of raffle tickets for the wine barrel table made and donated by Don Belisle has netted more than $ in three weeks. The winner will be drawn on Friday, November 24 th and the total proceeds will be given to the Aerie, also to be used for stove repair. Provided by the Retired Eagles Activity Club (REAC) Thank you to all of you that supported the spaghetti dinner fund raiser for the homeless veterans. Thanks to your generous donation we raised $1200 dollars for them. Bill and Phyllis Bancroft WOW! A great big thank you to Clarine Watkins and Barb Mullett for all their help with the dinner on October 20, We made $86.00 from the dinner and the funds will go to help with the stove repair and the roof. I would also like to thank everyone who came to buy the dinner and support the club. The Trunk or Treat was a huge success this year. We served over 160 hotdogs, 100 bags of chip, 4 gallons of apple cider and 35 bags of candy. I would like to thank everyone who dressed up, showed up and decorated their cars. Thank you Gary Orr and Shirley Percifield for the candy donations. I couldn t have managed all the fun inside without Janie Turpin and Dorothy Woehlk. Community service is a bootiful thing.
