2 Freedom Hall Recovery Center Freedom Hall Recovery Center in Piketon, Ohio is a compassionate, nonprofit rehabilitation center that is a ministry arm of New Beginnings Outreach Ministries of Southern Ohio (Federal 10 # ). This is an inpatient resident long term (6 to 9 months) treatment facility servicing those that suffer from drug and alcohol dependency and houses 31 males and 16 females. The residents are housed in separate living quarters and we do not discriminate based on race, religious preference, sexual orientation, ethnicity or financial standing. Since the inception of the program in July of 2004, we have operated entirely on donations from those who wish to help addicts. Our financial friends have developed through word of mouth, fundraising events as well as our monthly mailing list built that has been developed through the years of operation and we are not underwritten by any government entity, organization or corporation. Currently, we must raise $350 per resident, per month, to continue our services to those in need at no charge to them. Many of our residents are native to the Appalachian Region of Ohio, West Virginia, and Kentucky, though we have received residents from Florida, New York, Colorado, and Alabama. Many of the residents that come to Freedom Hall are homeless but we also have many that come from family backgrounds of doctors, lawyers, business owners and solid families that have used all their resources seeking treatment for their loved ones. We also receive some who are transitioning from incarceration back into society and are looking for a strong recovery foundation. All residents are here voluntarily, and we only accept those who are seriously seeking help.

3 We believe the success of our program is based up our faith in Jesus Christ approach in correlation with the Cognitive Behavior Theory as well as the length of our program. With the length of our program, residents can return to the workforce (after 4 months), obtain driver s license, GED s and many enroll in college courses as they prepare to reenter society. Many of our residents are reunited with their family and children during this period as well. At this point it is an average of 60 days waiting list for residents to enter Freedom Hall Recovery Center as our facilities stay at 100% capacity. Of the 1000 plus residents that have entered our program 30% of them complete our 9 to 12 month program of those that have completed our program 57% of them have remained clean and sober and are productive members of society. 4 Things to know about Freedom Hall Recovery Center: It is a long term inpatient facility for men and women ages 18 and above. The length of the program is 9 to 12 months. The program consists of; working the 12 steps of NA/AA through the Bible (Christian 12 Steps of Deliverance), daily Bible studies, assignments (self-esteem, rejection, abuse, ect.), daily topic groups, daily interactive groups, one on one counseling with a licensed counselor, anger management, parenting and relationship classes and life skills. New residents will be on a two week, in-house restriction (to include; no phone calls, no visits and no contact with family or friends until the two week restriction is complete. So please bring all the items you will be in need of for the first two weeks. Resident family passes may begin after the two week restriction beginning with a two hour pass and increasing to overnight passes as the resident progresses through phase program. Church attendance and daily bible studies are mandatory. Parents and loved ones may attend the Worship Services at 11am and 6pm on Sundays and 7:00pm on Wednesdays and the Serenity Support Meeting, Mondays at 7:00pm at the Recovery Center following the two week in-house restriction. At the present time the cost for treatment at Freedom Hall Recovery Center is $20 per week. If you have the ability and resources to donate more it would greatly be appreciated and go directly to the operations budget of Freedom Hall which is a large undertaking. Freedom Hall Recovery Center is funded by gifts and donations and receives no government or corporate underwriting. Freedom Hall Recovery Center has a 57% success rate for those that complete our five phase program. To gain admissions to Freedom Hall Recovery Center please call during the business hours of 9 to 5 pm Monday thru Friday. Once the assessment is completed the candidate will be placed on our waiting list for admissions. All residents will be at Freedom Hall by their own free will and may leave the program at any time. If the resident is on probation or parole the proper authorities will be timely notified. Residents that are not in accordance with the facilities program or have rule violation may be asked to leave the program immediately.

5 History: Freedom Hall Recovery Ministries began in 2004 under the name of Safe Haven Ministries after a group of people who loved The Lord as well as those hurting and battling with addiction seeing the need to go beyond the traditional church setting for recovery. This group recognized a need to have a recovery facility in Southern Ohio for those seeking treatment for addiction that did not have insurance or funding for treatment. This group also recognized the need for Jesus Christ to be the center of freedom and recovery but also the principle need for secular traditional counseling as well. This combination we have found is truly an effective means of a person changing their life and gaining freedom from drugs and alcohol. In 2007 this ministry evolved into New Beginnings Outreach Ministries of Southern Ohio and the current doors of Freedom Hall Recovery Center were opened at the current location of 2266 Wakefield Mound Rd., Piketon, Ohio. This facility currently houses 31 men and 8 women with a new women s facility under construction that will house 24 females as well as additional meeting and educational space. Freedom Hall Recovery Center since its inception has been administrated by Angie Pelphrey who battled and recovered from her own addiction to opiates. Freedom Recovery Center is operated completely by faith with gifts and donations from friends, organizations, churches and businesses and is not underwritten by any government agency or organization as well as it does not accept insurance payments. 6 Why Invest in New Beginnings Outreach Ministries of Southern Ohio Freedom Hall Recovery Center? It works! Since 2004 Freedom Hall Recovery Center has treated over 800 men and women in the area of drug and alcohol addiction at no cost. Many of the residents that come to our facility do not have insurance or any means of payment for treatment, as they have come to the end of their life and are without hope. Freedom Hall offers those without hope a second chance at life where all roads are leading to incarceration or death. Freedom Hall is an inpatient treatment center that houses, feeds and clothes up to 31 males and 8 (we currently have a new facility for females under construction that will house up to 24) females. Since the inception of Freedom Hall we have maintained full capacity with a continual waiting list that conservatively has over 10 people on each list awaiting treatment on occasion for up to six months at our facility. Freedom Hall is a nine to twelve month inpatient treatment program. Our treatment consists of the Cognitive Behavior Theory of treatment combined with a twelve step program of AA/NA through The Bible designed with the goal of directing the resident to gain a relationship with Jesus Christ. The residents attend classes with licensed counselors, do assignments and Bible studies as well as attend worship regularly at New Beginnings Outreach Ministries Worship Center. Our success: Of over the 800 plus men and women that have entered Freedom Hall Recovery Center s program 30% have completed the entire program and graduated of those that have completed the program 57% of those have remained clean and sober and have become productive members of society and many of those continue to serve Jesus Christ as their Savior. Many of our residents have: Completed GED programs and received their High School Diploma Entered construction apprenticeship programs Started their own business Began taking college classes and earning degree s Obtained good jobs and began careers Been reunited with family and children Gained or regained custody of children

7 Our Needs: Our budget is approximately $150, annually that includes: Facility mortgage One full time paid staff member Utilities Facility maintenance Sewage maintenance 3 Transport vehicles used to transport residents to outside meetings, appointments and church attendance Fuel and automobile expense Insurance- auto, property and liability Food- for 41 residents 3 times per day Cleaning and Cooking Supplies Office supplies Office equipment Our Funding: Freedom Hall Recovery Center is funded on total faith donation by friends, supporters, organizations, corporations and former residents. Freedom Hall is not funded by the Government, one particular organization, church or corporation. The majority of our funding comes as the result of a monthly newsletter that is sent to those that have befriended this ministry. Currently we are in need of adding to our monthly support newsletter as our operations budget is increasing regularly with rising cost as well as the need of additional paid staffing. The goal is to have this facility up and running by the end of 2013 as we still need to raise an additional $150,000 to complete this facility (fire suppression system is $100,000 of that need).

Family Fundraising: Although we do not charge residents at Freedom Hall we do ask them to donate a minimum of $20 per week if possible to offset fuel and food expense. As many know that most facilities will not accept your loved one without medical insurance, medical card or large cash payment ; any contribution that you can make to offset cost of this ministry would be greatly appreciated.

9 INFORMATION REGARDING WAITING LIST CLIENTS: Client must call New Beginnings every Monday to check in on residency status. Client must leave a message on the machine, up to midnight or speak to New Beginnings staff during office hours 9:00am to 5:00pm. If a client misses a Monday check in it will affect their status on residency. Clients are welcome to come to meetings and church services. The meeting schedule is as follows: Monday Night Loved Ones and Family Recovery Group: Open to addicts and families. This meeting provides education on addiction and information on beneficial coping with a loved one struggling with addiction. This meeting is held from 7-8pm at the Freedom Hall Recovery Center 2266 Wakefield Mound Rd. ITEMS DEEMED UNSUITABLE WILL BE CONFISCATED AND EITHER STORED OR DESTROYED. All CLOTHING WILL BE PLACED IN THE DRYER FOR 30 MINUTES DURING THE ADMISSION PROCESS. IT IS A FELONY TO BRING DRUGS ON THE PROPERTY AND YOU WILL BE PROSECUTED!
