1 MARCH 18, Our March chapter meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the Penbrook American Legion Post 730. Social hour will begin at 6:00 PM with dinner being served at 7:00 PM. Guest speaker will follow dinner. 2. On the dinner menu this month will be garden salad, glazed ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, coconut cream pie, coffee, iced tea, soft drinks and beer. Dinner price remains at $11; coffee, iced tea and soft drinks are included with the meal; donations for beer will be accepted. Suggested beer donations are $1 per glass and $5 per pitcher. 3. It is imperative that you make your dinner reservation by calling Sandy Potteiger at no later than noon on Monday, March 23, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU CALL SANDY IF YOU PLAN ON JOINING US FOR DINNER. WE NEED TO PROVIDE THE LEGION WITH AN ACCURATE NUMBER OF THOSE WHO WILL BE ATTENDING. THIS IS TO ENSURE THERE IS ENOUGH FOOD FOR ALL WHO ATTEND THE MEETING. 4. Our guest speaker this month will be football coach and 1999 Capital Area Chapter Inductee, Dennis Iezzi. 5. A special thank you and a tip of the hat to our February guest speaker, Dr. Jeff Conforti state ballots have been mailed. Remember to follow the voting directions by voting exactly for the number specified. Also, ensure that your ballot is postmarked no later than the date on the instructions. Your ballot will be voided should you not follow the voting directions. Also, for the first time in the history of our organization you can vote on line if you so desire. 7. This year s State induction banquet will be held in Valley Forge the weekend of October More information will be distributed to our members as we get closer to that date.

The following are the successful candidates for induction into our Chapter Hall of Fame; Zeffy Penn (Basketball), Thomas Klugh (Football/Wrestling/ Coach), Rusty Owens (Swim Coach), Rahsaan Carlton (Basketball/Athletic Director), Gerry Bachman (Football/Basketball/Track), Jack Hoerner (Basketball), and Harry Rote (Football/Baseball). 9. Keep in mind our 2015 Chapter induction banquet will be held Saturday, June 13 at the Holiday Inn, East. VP Bob Swanger will once again be serving as our ticket chairman. Our spring lottery fundraiser tickets are now available. Ticket price remains at the $3 level. Prizes are June 1 and June 30 - $100 each day; June 2 thru June 29 - $25 each day; July 4 - $400. Our Facebook editor, Andy Linker, has a daily sports blurb which is usually about a chapter inductee. 12. Along the same lines check out our state website you will notice some giant steps forward within the coming months. 13. HELP WANTED.effective 31 December 2015 I will be stepping down as the Chapter s treasurer/membership chairman. I am asking for someone to step up to replace me. I am more than happy to work with that person to teach him/her the ropes over the course of 2015 so that it will be a smooth transition into Please let me know if you are willing to step up to the plate. 3 14. VERY IMPORTANT - Those of you whose membership dues are paid through 2014 must pay your 2015 dues now. Keep in mind a member will be dropped from the active roster should his/her dues not be paid by March Do you enjoy receiving your newsletter via ? If so, please talk it up with the other 350 members of our chapter who still get their newsletter via snail mail. I will be more than happy to get more people on the distribution list. 16. It is extremely important that each member keep me current on your address and postal mail. 17.
