3 FALL QCWA LUNCHEON MEETING MINUTES SATURDAY, October 4, 2014 MONTI S LA CASA VIEJA, TEMPE AZ. The Arizona Chapter QCWA held its Fall meeting at Monti s LaCasa Vieja in Tempe AZ on October 4, 2014 with 13 members and guests attending. The luncheon was served at 12 noon. At 12:57 pm the meeting began with introductions around the room. At 1:12 pm Bob McCuskey, W7BV, gave a presentation of his amateur radio history from 1953 to present. At 1:55 pm the newly elected officers of the chapter were officially certified by a vote of those present and then installed to their new positions. A question was raised on the existence of Chapter Bylaws and it was suggested that the Bylaws need to be located and posted on the Chapter s website AZQCWA.ORG. The meeting was adjourned at 2:08 pm. Group photos then followed. At 2:15 pm the old (K0VPL Doug & W7BV Bob) and new (K7DF Tom, N6MY Ray, & W7BJ Dave) officers met to discuss the transition of officer s duties. W7BJ will be setting up a new checking account with Wells Fargo Bank. W7BJ will be notifying AZ Corporation Commission and ARCA of the change of officers. W7BV stated that he is donating the projector and screen to the Chapter. W7BV will be notifying QCWA of the change of officers. Discussion followed on the past meeting times and places. K7DF stated they he will be creating pages for facebook and other social sites. W7BJ will be establishing a new member pack. K7DF discussed setting up cards to hand out with the Chapter s information for generating new members. Discussion ensued about the 75 meter net on Sunday mornings in that a number of members can t get on 75 meters. It is real important to have a method of communicating more often than the quarterly meetings. Many different ideas were presented by radio, computer, and local area meetings. K7DF would like to find the history of the Chapter to be used for recruitment. The meeting was concluded at 3:05 pm.
