2 THE MISSION OF YFS Our mission is to provide, promote, assist and facilitate a community based, structured process of counseling, socialization, recreation, educational assistance, and in emergency youth shelter for youth and their families who have been identified as in need of assistance in adjusting to current life situations. 3 Dear Donors & Friends, As I reflect upon the past year at YFS, I am extremely proud of our YFS team and the difference we have made for others. I believe the numbers in this report are not just a way of measuring our success, but a reflection of our hands at work, empowered by your support. These numbers represent children placed within our care. They exemplify teenagers who ve found their first real home. They embody families with children who ve found comfort through listening ears and wise council. This report is much more than a numerical value of the services we have provided; it is the story of the many lives that have been changed forever. This year we have achieved many new milestones. The YFS Foster Care and Caring Center teams celebrated 19 more adoptions. We assisted 82% of youth housed within our Transitional Living apartments in becoming independent and employed. Our clinicians assisted hundreds of teenagers wrestling with life s struggles make better choices for their future. We fed the hungry; we housed the homeless. Families in crisis found stabilization and hope to move forward. As we continually strive to make a lasting difference in the lives of others, we know that our continued success is directly attributed to our generous and faithful supporters. We continue to meet our communities needs because of you. As your community charity meeting your community s needs, it is because of you, our faithful friends, that we are able to fulfill our mission year after year. 4 CARE for children in need Caring Center The YFS Caring Center provides safety, security, food, and shelter to children ages 0-18 who are in the care of DHS, OJA, or a parent or guardian. The 120 children and youth served in the Caring Center during the year received health screenings, counseling, academic and living skills education, and recreational opportunities. Care days totaled 3,881. YFS provides a trauma sensitive environment. Safety, security, food, and shelter to an average of 120 children per year from throughout the state of Oklahoma! Due to changes in the child welfare system, high needs children stayed in our emergency shelter for longer periods of time this year, receiving the trauma informed care needed to ready them for their next loving home!

5 HOPE for healing Foster Care Our foster care program provided 125 children with loving foster homes. The YFS foster care program provides Traditional Foster, Respite, and Shelter Host Homes all while building supports for the children and strengthening the foster family through stabilizing the relationships and assisting both child and family throughout the foster experience. A seamless connection between 125 children this year and loving, supportive foster homes! This year we celebrated 19 adoptions for children within our foster care network! 25 approved foster homes were added to our foster care network in 2017 alone!

6 Counseling MEND what has been broken Our person centered counseling services promote emotional stability and positive behaviors in individuals and families in the community, including children residing in the YFS Caring Center and those participating in YFS programs. YFS provides crisis intervention services and treatment for ongoing behavioral and emotional disorders and substance abuse and dependency. GENERAL COUNSELING YFS Counseling Services reached 679 individuals and families promoting emotional stability and positive behavior! OUTREACH COUNSELING Crisis Intervention, counseling, and education to 452 children and their parents for an improved childhood and educational experience! COMMUNITY AT-RISK SERVICES (CARS) Assistance resolving at risk behaviors provided to 42 youth & their families to help making better choices for their futures! FIRST TIME OFFENDER PROGRAM A positive learning experienece for 104 youth and their parents promoting change and positive life choices!

7 EMPOWER a brighter future Independent Living YFS independent living services provide youth, up to the age of 21, with safe and loving relationship training, tutoring, life skills training, mentoring, job training, incentives for acheiving goals, and follow up services. Within our independent living program, we offer transitional living services to provide housing and life-skills training for youth and young adults ages who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Housing is the foundation for a comprehensive program designed to promote healthy lifestyles, financial independence, and job readiness. INDEPENDENT LIVING SERVICES Independent Living Services reached 267 youth this year promoting successful transitions into adulthood. TRANSITIONAL LIVING PROGRAM Assistance resolving at risk behaviors provided to 92 youth & their families to help make better choices for their future. YOUTH DROP-IN CENTERS Support provided to 43 rural homeless & runaway youth who needed a place to go!

8 RESPOND with compassionate action Emergency Solutions In additon to preventing homelessness through the transitional living program, YFS offers a federally funded program that assists individuals and families with Homeless Prevention and Rapid- Rehousing. Individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless are assisted with rent and utility payments. YFS served 20 families and 58 individuals with this program. Housing assistance to 20 families and 58 individuals who would otherwise be homeless!
