1 Herbal Seasons Newsletter F OVER THE GARDEN GATE Fellow Herb Lovers, Fall Conference 2016 Our 2016 Fall Conference is fast approaching and for those of you who haven t gotten your Registration form in by and want on site Lodging at the Mill, we are filling those rooms now. Our Keynotes are very popular and demand will be high! GO TO: PayPal is now available, on the site, as is the list of Presenters that have signed on so far. We have a few more to and as soon that is complete the Schedule will come out approximately the first week in September. You ***MUST*** reserve rooms, meals and vending space or risk losing out! Call: Leave a message if there is no answer and we will return your call ASAP. If you do not use PayPal, you will be abl to download a Registration form from the Website. All funds should be sent to the Treasurers. We have three new items on the agenda this year: 1. A Silent Auction, of just Plants. Judy Roylance is in charge and is seeking a volunteer to help and Donations of your plants that need a new loving owner. 2. The Dot Montgillion Award (suggested by Dave Hawkins). This is an Honorary Award and will be done by Ballot Box at the Registration table. The award will be given to the person who has done the most to promote and enrich the organization, just as Dot would have. Candidates can be suggested on a list in front of the box. One vote per member, only, please. 1

2 3. The Herbal Jam. If you play an instrument, bring it and jam with friends just before dinner on Frida night, on the Dining Hall front porch. Joe and Terry Graedon will, both, give classes on Friday afternoon, as will Dave Hawkins. Friday registration starts at 9:30 AM and runs through the day. The Masons will play for us on Friday night from 7 PM to11 PM. Come out and do a little dancing with us, enjoy some refreshments, meet with old friends and make some new ones! Saturday Registration starts at 8:30 AM and continues all day. Classes should run from 9 AM to Lunch at Noon and the Keynote address at 1 PM. Our Annual Meeting will be in the afternoon as will the Dessert Contest, WHICH HAS A $25.00 PRIZE for the best sweet treat. Classes will continue until 6 PM. Rules for the Dessert Contest: 1. The dish must contain, at least, one (1) Herb. 2. It must be Sweet. 3. The recipe must accompany it, printed legibly on a 3 x5 card. 4. All ingredients must be listed. 5. It must be in a, no smaller than 8 x8, pan. Our usual Raffles will run on both days and we would appreciate any and all donations for them. THERE IS ROOM FOR APPROX. 16 TABLES INSIDE THE BUILDING AND TEN SPACS OUTSIDE. TABLES ARE 8 LONG AND 30 WIDE. INSIDE VENDORS WILL HAVE (1) TABLE AND OUTSIDE VENDORS MUST REQUEST TABLES (UP TO 4, PROVIDED BY THE MILL) BY SEPT. 10 TH, ALL VENDOR SPACES ARE $25.00 FOR BOTH DAYS AND ARE ON A 1 ST COME, 1 ST SERVE BASIS FOR INSIDE TABLES. IF YOUWISH TO HAVE AN EDUCATIONAL DISPLAY OR NON-PROFIT TABLE, THOSE ARE FREE, AS USUAL, AND ARE IN THE ENTRY TO THE EEC BUILDING. THERE ARE ONLY 3. DISCOUNTED ATTENDANCE FEE FOR VENDORS. IF YOU WISH TO ATTEND CLASSES, AS WELL AS VEND, YOU MUST PAY A $20.00 PER DAY OR $35.00 FOR BOTH DAYS FEE. IF YOU HAVE ASSISTANTS WISHING TO ATTEND CLASSES THEY MUST ALSO PAY THE FEE.
