8 HAPPY BIRTHDAY OCTOBER HAPPY ANNIVERSARY OCTOBER Jeff Billings Nick Ellis Linda Harley Bob Heyboer Harold Hillis Jack Hodges Sue Scott Michelle Smedley Bernie Sporre Bonnie Wegman Rosalyn Wicks Kimberly Wilhelm Robert & Sharon Burson Bernie Sporre Scott & Chris Sutherland Gwen Walker Robert & Alberta Wiederrick Lynn Milliken Jean Yanity Nancy Nichols From the desk of Barry Bandaruk, Gem Show Chair 2016 It is my sincere hope the members of the Gem Society have had an eventful summer, full of travels, experiences, & good health. As the weather cools down in Havasu, a core group of members have been busy organizing the new shop & store. All of our materials from storage were moved & a collection of grinders & saws have been accumulated. With the purchase of 5 new machines, the shop is ready to open for business. Many members worked hard over the summer to get the shop ready & the place is looking fabulous. Now we need members to get involved when you get back to town! Our next big event is the Gem Show, November 12 & 13. Our local members have committed to many key positions, but we still have a huge need for others to participate. Remember, this is our big fundraiser for the year. All Vendor booths are sold. Our kitchen is being organized by Helen Reyes & Kathy Padilla. Lou & Liz Porter are organizing the Kids room. We still need a couple of people to organize the Raffle. I have been working at it, & so far we have about $550 worth of committed donations. We will need help with loading tables & displays & setting up the Aquatic Center on November 10 & then taking things down on November 13. AND unloading the trailers on Monday! Please plan on attending our general meeting October 14 and the Gem show organizational meeting Wednesday, October 19. We need your help. If you cannot make it, please me & let me know when you will be in town. I will discuss job opportunities with you. A tremendous amount of effort has been put into the store & gem show, your willingness to participate in the show, the store, & the shop will greatly enhance the club. Your anticipated support is appreciated, greatly! 8
