Crochet Pattern Reading Wednesdays at 3:30 PM Joins us for a 6 week series to be held on Wednesdays from 3:30-5:30, September 12th through October 17th. Lots of people know how to crochet but can get frustrated when they don t know how to read a pattern. Jo MacPhail will teach this necessary skill in this 6 week program series, and she makes learning fun! Prerequisite: Attendees need to know the basic crochet stitches for this program. This Live Local, Think Global series program is cosponsored by Food Not Bombs, whose goals include ending hunger. Faces of Addiction and Recovery Panel Discussion Monday, September 17, 6:00 PM September 17th through 23rd is Prescription Opioid and Heroin Epidemic Awareness Week. This panel discussion will focus on the reasons behind addiction, the impact of addiction on families and communities, and the recovery process including what is working and what steps can be implemented to improve the recovery process, including Q&A. It will also present follow up information from the Putnam County Addictions Task Force panel discussion last January. Panelists include Debbie Wachal, Sheriff Scott Stockton, Police Chief Tom Sutherlin, Daniel Cummings: MA in Marriage and Family therapy, Erin Flick: Substance Abuse Counselor at Cummins, and others. Ukulele Jam Wednesdays at 6:00 PM Do you play the ukulele? Join us every Wednesday at 6:00 for an open ukulele jam! Voter Registration for National Voter Registration Day Tuesday, September 25 Book Club PCPL Book Club 5:00 PM Monday, September 10th Discussing The Zookeeper s Wife by Diane Ackerman We re celebrating 20 years of the PCPL Book Club! Join us at 5:00 PM on Monday, September 10th, for a social hour. Food & drink will be provided. Then stick around for a showing of the film adaptation of The Zookeeper s Wife at 6:00 PM, followed by a discussion. New members welcome! Copies of the book are available at the Reference Desk. The League of Women Voters along with the Voter Registration Office and the Putnam County Clerk s Office will be present and will bring a voting machine for patrons to try out. Yarn Perch 5:00 PM Yarn Perch is now on Mondays! Need crochet or knitting help or companionship? Jo MacPhail will take her Yarn Perch (located in the southside stacks) every Monday evening from 5-7 PM to help those in need. Bridge for Everyone 1:30 PM Come to an open Bridge game on Thursday afternoon in the Kiwanis room. All who enjoy Bridge are invited to attend, regardless of skill level. LibrarYoga 5:30 PM PCPL is offering free yoga sessions led by certified yoga instructors. Classes are for all levels of students. Participants should wear comfy, stretchy clothes. Yoga mats, blocks, and straps are available for your use.

Explore arts and crafts, simple circuits, chemistry and more! Each month will feature a different project but there will always be something to make, build, create, or discover!
