Autumn begins on the 22nd of the month and as temperatures start to cool off for the rest of the year, we are hoping that our walking group will increase in participation. The park across the parking lot has been really nice for the residents to walk around and get some fresh air. Also in September, it s National Assisted Living Week from the 10th to the 16th. There are several events that will be happening that week to celebrate and our residents will be apart of the fun. As a side note, there is now a check box outside of the business office managers office. Please feel free to drop off your monthly payments into this lock box. In other news, the Texas Alzheimer s Walk is on September 10am at San Gabriel Park- Area Z in Georgetown. We will be providing transportation for any family members that would like to accompany their loved ones to the event. There is still time to submit donations to our Poet s Walk sliders team. Week 09/10 - Grandparents Day at 10:30 a.m. Dylan and Gaye Lynn will host the Poet s Walk Round Rock National Grandparents Day Awards Ceremony honoring each resident.

09/12- Family Dinner Night at 5:00 p.m. Kris is hosting a family dinner night which all family members are invited to celebrate family, fun and food! 09/13 Family Fun Picnic at p.m. Residents can play fun picnic games such as bean bag toss, ring toss and horse shoes!

September 1st & 22nd Music from The Heart with Wen Wen is a community favorite he showcases classic 1950s, Elvis, Hawaiian and much more! September 10th Kim K. Kim sings songs from the good old days while playing the piano. She also bring her own musical instruments so we can join in! September 14th Lamar P. Lamar is a piano sensation playing all the show tunes of our favorite shows, movies and plays! September 19th John Youngblood The Golden Oldies concert is the bee s knees of the 1950s and 60s era. We all love to shake, rattle and roll with John! September 23rd Alzheimer s Texas 8th Annual Walk We are so proud to walk for a cure for the second year in a row, as the Poet s Walk Round Rock Sliders Poets Walk Celebrates National Assisted Living Week 09/10 - Grandparents Day at 10:30 a.m. Dylan and Gaye Lynn will host the Poet s Walk Round Rock National Grandparents Day Awards Ceremony honoring each resident. 09/11 -Family Game Day/Awards at 1 a.m. Marketing will Host this days events starting with a team trivia game were all residents will win prizes during the many rounds of trivia and fun facts. 09/12- Family Dinner Night at 5:00 p.m. Kris is hosting a family dinner night which all family members are invited to celebrate family, fun and food! 09/13 Family Fun Picnic at p.m. Residents can play fun picnic games such as bean bag toss, ring toss and horse shoes! When experiencing low sensory needs the person may display behaviors such as humming, rubbing of hands, waving, wiping furniture and / or picking lint from clothes of self or others. When the person is experiencing high sensory needs some may display behaviors such as clenching of their teeth. This is often mistaken for aggression. The person may also be observed pushing chairs, moving things around and stomping feet, which often times expresses an unmet need, like toileting, hunger or thirst. Care Team should determine the unmet need.
