2 COURSE DESCRIPTION Extremities in the Carolinas: Trauma for General Orthopedics is an advanced course for physician assistants and nurse practicioners who treat traumatic injuries of the extremities in adults and children. This course teaches the principles and techniques for management of extremity trauma and current concepts in surgical and non-surgical management. COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to: Examine and apply basic scientific information and technical skills in orthopedic trauma Update knowledge regarding current evaluation and treatment of orthopedic trauma of the upper and lower extremities Review current practice management including proper coding, reimbursement, and state/national healthcare trends Develop new clinical and technical skills to improve delivery of healthcare to patients with upper and/or lower extremity trauma INTENDED AUDIENCE Physician assistants and nurse practicioners who practice in general orthopedics. CREDIT This program is provided by Physician Assistants in Orthopaedic Surgery. This program was planned in accordance with AAPA s CME Standards for Live Programs and Commercial Support of Live Programs. This program is not yet approved for CME credit. Conference organizers plan to request AAPA Category I CME Credits from the AAPA Review Panel. The total number of approved credits is yet to be determined The online quiz to accompany program is not yet approved for CME credit. Conference organizers plan to request a maximum of 5 AAPA Category I CME Self Assessment Credits from the AAPA Review Panel. The total number of approved credits is yet to be determined *NPs can often claim AAPA Category I CME credit as continuing education with AANP & ANCC. All planning committee members, authors, and speakers were required to disclose relevant financial relationships with any commercial interest providing support for this program. Potential conflicts of interest were resolved and documented by one or more of the following methods: 1) Altering the individual s financial relationships, 2) Conducting an independent validation of the individual s presentation content. Individuals who refused to or otherwise failed to disclose potential conflicts or interest to the AAPA were disqualified from participation in planning or implementing this CME activity. CANCELLATION POLICY The planners and sponsors reserve the right to cancel this function without penalty. The total amount of liability of the planners and suppliers will be limited to a refund of the registration fee. Your registration acknowledges acceptance of these provisions. REFUND POLICY Refunds will be subject to a non-refundable $75 processing fee. Requests for refunds must be received in writing in the PAOS office by April 26, NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED AFTER APRIL 26, Refunds will not be made for noshows. PAOS is not responsible for expenses incurred by an individual who is not confirmed and for whom space is not available at the meeting. Cost incurred by the registrant, such as airfare or hotel fees or penalties are the responsibility of the registrant.
