2 ANNUAL REVIEW IN FAMILY MEDICINE CONTROVERSIES AND CHALLENGES IN PRIMARY CARE Hotel Nikko, San Francisco Target Audience: This course is intended for family medicine and other primary care providers including internists, pediatricians, gynecologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and other health care professionals. Presented by the Department of Family, University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine, the Annual Review in Family Medicine is designed to update primary care clinicians in controversial and rapidly changing areas. The emphasis is on practical and useful information for clinical practice. The discussions will also be extremely valuable in preparation for the Board Examination of the American Board of Family Practice. SUNDAY TUESDAY February 4-6, 2007 EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this program, the participants should be able to describe Management strategies for common problems, such headache, diabetes, BPH and obesity; Treatment of infectious diseases such as viral hepatitis, tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS; Current screening for cervical and breast cancer; Appropriate management strategies for domestic violence, street drug usage and adolescent sexual behavior; The evidence for nutritional approaches in coronary heart disease and obesity.
