1 TERM TWO Term 2 Week PHONE ADDRESS - Shellharbour Road, Port Kembla 2505 DATE WEEK 9 29th June WEEK 10 3rd 4th July 6th July UPCOMING EVENTS 3-6 Assembly Year 6 Peer Support Training NAIDOC Celebrations 3-6 ASSEMBLY This Friday, 29 June will be the final awards assembly for 3-6 this term. Assembly will begin promptly at 9.10am in the school hall. All parents and caregivers are welcome to attend. Students receiving awards will be notified via a letter that will be going home by Thursday. NO AWARDS ASSEMBLY WEEK 10 Please note that due to our special NAIDOC Day celebrations and rotations in week 10, we will not be holding a P-2 awards assembly on Friday, 6 July. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Awards will be distributed when our Term 3 assemblies commence. Parents will be informed of the rotation roster for next term's assemblies in week 10. We would like to thank parents and caregivers for their support this term as we transitioned to a different assembly rotation system. Next term, we look forward to your participation and encouragement of student achievements, class items, special assemblies and more. HB5 CLASS NEWS HB5 have completed some beautiful artworks this term on Peacocks. These artworks required students to use oil pastels and blending techniques. They then completed the artwork with a wash of yellow water based paint. Our class have also experienced a couple of cooking classes. Last term we created hamburgers. This term we made pizzas. The boys chose their favourite toppings and made their pizzas. We are hoping to fit in one more cooking lesson before the end of term.

2 PSSA During Week 6 and Week 7 some of our primary students represented the school in PSSA girls soccer and boys Oztag. The students played a number of games against Port Kembla Public School, Lake Heights Public School, Berkeley Public School, Berkeley West Public School and Warrawong Public School. The students all had a great time and showed wonderful sportsmanship.

3 CELEBRATING NAIDOC WEEK TERM 2 WHOLE SCHOOL EVENT FRIDAY 6 TH JULY On Friday 6th July 2018, the students at Kemblawarra Public School will participate in NAI- DOC Day activities from 9.15am-12.45pm. Parents/caregivers and community members are invited to attend the Assembly/BBQ starting at 12.15pm. Could your child please wear a black, yellow or red t-shirt representing the Aboriginal flag or an Indigenous design t-shirt where possible to join in the spirit of the day.
