13 Surveillance accomplishments in the last 2 years Bangladesh Collection and compilation by epidemiology unit of dog bite and rabies like symptom: 2013 = 8,406; 2014 = 7,985 China By means of vaccination surveillance, some cities has largely promote their rabies prevention measures 13
14 Surveillance accomplishments in the last 2 years Hongkong (2014) 844 biter animals were identified and undergone rabies observation, 3 animal carcasses were tested for rabies (2015) 619 biter animals were identified and undergone rabies observation; 8 animal carcasses were tested for rabies. 15 Surveillance accomplishments in the last 2 years Malaysia Early detection on suspect rabies cases during 2015 outbreaks and ability to contain outbreak Myanmar Data for suspected dog rabies cases were collected from some regions and states and used for selection of pilot vaccination campaign of risk based supported by OIE SRR SEA 15
16 Surveillance accomplishments in the last 2 years Philippines Developed a detailed animal rabies case investigation form Issued a moratorium on charging of lab fee for rabies exam for encouraging more submission of samples for testing Korea Immunity barrier formation (dog cow) in high risk regions; annual immune status surveillance for wild animals 16
17 Surveillance accomplishments in the last 2 years Papua New Guinea Training of field animal health officers on sampling of brain stem tissue for use in a rapid field antigen ELISA test kit. Developing lab capacity to diagnose rabies, and also establish proficiency test rings with other reference labs 17
18 Surveillance accomplishments in the last 2 years Thailand According to ASEAN Rabies elimination by 2020, Thailand established the Rabies elimination strategy by DLD has policy to encourage active and passive surveillance program and develop the online database system Chinese Taipei There were a total of 2,434 samples (dogs, cats, bats and wildlife) that had been diagnosed for rabies mointoring in the last two years, and besides 235 ferret badgers and 6 gem-faced civets has shown positive 18
