Local Referral Policy TVMDL works with the Gastrointestinal Laboratory (GI Lab) at Texas A&M University as a referral laboratory. Samples received at TVMDL for GI Lab tests are repackaged and transported to the GI Lab for testing. Starting September 1, samples shipped to TVMDL intended for the GI Lab will incur a referral/forwarding fee. For faster turnaround times and to avoid TVMDL s $7 accession and $10 local referral/forwarding fee, samples for GI specific tests should be shipped directly to the GI Lab at the address below. For more information on GI Lab offerings, visit their website at vetmed.tamu.edu/gilab.
