2 Target Audience This seminar is designed for physicians, nurses, dietitians, pharmacists, certified diabetes educators, and other healthcare professionals with an interest in diabetes and promoting diabetes education. The 2018 activity will update participants on current diabetes management. Learning Objectives Upon completion of this activity, the participants will be able to: Identify signs and symptoms of eating disorders Describe strategies to improve a patient s response to stress Identify candidates for pancreas transplantation Compare and contrast types of diabetes presenting in children Identify, assess, and utilize the technology of the past, present and future of diabetes Identify innovations in pain management for neuropathic pain Indicate updates in treatment options in the 2018 ADA Standards of Medical Care in Diabetes 2

Complimentary entertainment vouchers will be included in your registration materials. Shuttles will leave starting at 6:30pm and will run every 2 hours with the last shuttle returning at 10:30pm. Accreditation Statements Physicians The American Diabetes Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The American Diabetes Association designates this live activity for a maximum of 8.75 AMA PRA Category 1 credit(s). Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Nurses: The American Diabetes Association is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center s COA. Pharmacists. Dietitians: The American Diabetes Association is a Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Accredited Provider with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Registered dietitians (RDs) and dietetic technicians, registered (DTRs) will receive 8.75 continuing professional education units (CPEUs) for completion of this program/material. Activity # Pharmacists: The American Diabetes Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. The American Diabetes Association designates these sessions as knowledge-based per ACPE guidelines. To view the UAN s and learning objectives for each session, please visit professional.diabetes.org/wisconsin and click Continuing Education for Certified Diabetes Educators: To satisfy the requirement for renewal of certification by continuing education for the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE), continuing education activities must be diabetes related and approved by a provider on the NCBDE List of Approved Providers ( NCBDE does not approve continuing education. The American Diabetes Association is on the NCBDE List of Approved Providers. Successful Completion Statement To Claim Continuing Education Credits Certificates of Completion/Attendance are provided to registered attendees based upon completion of the online evaluation available through April 6, The evaluation will be ed to registered participants after the program. *Attention Pharmacists: Upon closing of the online evaluation the American Diabetes Association will upload the needed pharmacy-related continuing education information to the CPE Monitor within 60 days.
