1 Radial shaft seals HMS4 and HMSA7 seals HMS4 and HMSA7 seals are primarily availale in inch sizes ut are also availale in a very limited numer of metric sizes that are in the process of eing replaced y the HMS5 and HMSA10 seals. Contact your SKF representative for updated information on availaility of metric sizes. HMS4: Seal with ruer outside diameter, a caron steel reinforcement ring and either a caron or stainless steel garter spring. HMS4 HMSA7 HMSA7: Seal with ruer outside diameter, a caron steel reinforcement ring, an auxiliary, contacting lip and either a caron or stainless steel garter spring. HMS4 and HMSA7 seals are availale in nitrile ruer for general-purpose applications and in fluoro ruer, providing improved hightemperature and chemical resistance. See matrix 1 on pages 90 and 91 for permissile operating conditions. 162
