1 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY MULTIDISCIPLINARY NETWORK Expert Faculty In the fields of: Anesthesia Botany Family Medicine HIV/AIDS Neuroscience Oncology Ophthalmology Pain management Palliative Care Pharmacology Physiatry Psychiatry Collaborations: McGill University Research Institute of the McGill University Health Center International Cannabinoid Research Society International Association for the Study of Pain International Association for Cannabinoid Medicine University of Toronto, Faculty of Medicine, Office of Continuing Professional Development Concordia University, Educational Technology Program Originally conceived as an interdisciplinary research consortium in 2000, the CCIC is a registered non-profit organization whose mission is to promote evidence-based education concerning the endocannabinoid system and therapeutic applications of cannabinoid agents to clinical audiences. Our member based consortium is comprised of over 300 Canadian clinicians and scientists. Our organization is based in Canada and our work and network span the globe. BRINGING CREDIBILITY TO CANNABINOID MEDICINE Our vision is to advance evidence-based research and education concerning the endocannabinoid system and therapeutic applications of endocannabinoid and cannabinoid agents. Our mission is to engage with all stakeholders - government, academic and industry - to facilitate research and develop educational initiatives. Our educational programs address the need for knowledge, advance understanding among clinicians and improve standards of care for patients who may benefit from the therapeutic use of cannabinoids. Our initiatives include: Live symposia and meetings Online CME curricula Physician materials and supplementary academic curricula Research support Research projects REPRESENTING THE DIVERSE FIELD OF CANNABINOID THERAPEUTICS The CCIC is unique. We bring together an array of global experts to provide balanced and credible knowledge on the therapeutic use of cannabinoids. Our team includes: A multidisciplinary board of directors comprised of clinicians and scientists Program faculty of leading researchers and experienced clinicians Collaborations with professional societies and academic institutions Management staff with experience in medicine, research, science, business, and education Advancing our understanding of the role of cannabinoids in health and disease through research and education 1

2 PROVIDING ACCREDITED CANNABINOID EDUCATION TO CLINICIANS The CCIC has conducted nearly 100 education events on cannabinoids since These include small group meetings, workshops, online programs, full-day events, and multi-day clinical symposia. These educational events have been implemented in Canada, the United States and Europe. Our programs have reached over 3300 health care professionals, providing certified continuing medical education credits on a subject that is not often taught in medical schools or other professional meetings. By going through the accreditation process, we ensure that our content is unbiased, evidencebased, and clinically relevant to health care practitioners. We are a physician based organization and work in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Accreditation of Continuing Medical Education (Canada) and the standards of the College of Family Physicians of Canada, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education. Our programs are designed to help clinicians: Describe the science of the endocannabinoid system and cannabinoid therapies Assess safety considerations for cannabinoid use in patient selection and monitoring Interpret research on efficacy of cannabinoids as a treatment option Discuss practical considerations for using cannabinoids in clinical practice EDUCATING BEYOND THE CLASSROOM Our work extends beyond the classroom and into the clinic with both web-based and printed enduring materials. Online resources include: CME curricula An extensive database of published and ongoing studies Audio-visual tools Comprehensive reports BUILDING A COMMUNITY IN CANADA AND WORLDWIDE Our reach grows with every day and every initiative. Our initiatives bring together interested and engaged individuals from across Canada and worldwide. 3 GLOBAL SPONSORSHIP Become a global sponsor of the Consortium to ensure the sustainability of our ongoing pursuit for increased cannabinoid research and education. Global sponsorship gives the Consortium the means to develop, plan, implement, and evaluate events and initiatives. Beyond salary support, office space, online presence, and providing a forum for networking, global sponsors enable the Consortium to be actively engaged national and international initiatives, such as membership with; the United Nations Vienna NGO Committee on Drugs, Health Canada expert panels, McGill University Faculty of Medicine Continuing Education Research Group, Quebec Pain Research Network, International Association for Cannabinoid Medicines, and more. 4 INITIATIVE SPECIFIC SPONSORSHIP Beyond Global Sponsorship there are a range of opportunities to support specific CCIC initiatives. We are pleased to invite you to explore the following sponsorship opportunities for the following initiatives in NEWSLETTER The CCIC Newsletter is an electronic publication distributed monthly to our members and supporters. With a reach of approximately 1000 the newsletter provides news, events, clinical research, interviews, policy updates, research updates and other important information on cannabinoids. Sponsorship of the CCIC newsletter includes: Written acknowledgement in each newsletter Company logo included with acknowledgement Recognition on the CCIC website as Newsletter Supporter Recognition in the CCIC annual report The opportunity to present their company in one edition (company description and interview with CEO or other designated company employee) Cost of sponsoring 12 issues: $6,000 PODCAST Established in January 2015, The CCIC PODCASTs are monthly audio recordings available to listeners and subscribers through itunes, RSS, and the CCIC website. The professionally produced podcasts range from 10 to 20 minutes each. Each features an interview by the CCIC Executive Director of an internationally renowned key opinion leader in cannabinoid science or policy. During the year, CCIC PODCASTS were listened to over times. 5 ANNUAL FUNDING COMPETITION The CCIC Annual Funding Competition awards funds to Canadian trainees for their cannabinoid research efforts. Our funding competition attracts applications from across the country, spanning basic science research, social science, and clinical research trainees. Support the CCIC research awards to help ensure the ongoing future of cannabinoid research in Canada. Since 2010 the CCIC has awarded $96, to 53 Canadian graduate students in support of their cannabinoid research efforts. These awards have contributed to the presentation of 17 oral presentations and 27 posters presentations at national and international conferences. These awards have also contributed to 10 research initiatives leading to publications in top journals such as the journal Neuroscience, and The British Journal of Pharmacology. Sponsorship of the annual funding competition includes.
