2 Want to find some really outstanding young people involved in worthwhile activities? Look no further than 4-H and FFA. For generations 4-H and FFA projects have supported youth in developing llife skills that foster leadership, respect, trustworthiness, responsibility, caring, honesty, self-esteem and citizenship. These young people go on to become adults vital to your work force with a larger sense of civic responsibility. The Livestock Youth Development Fund is established to support these young people. It provides scholarship awards for youth participants in the LSU AgCenter s State Livestock Show. Scholarship awards are provided by private donations only. Importantly, 100 % of your donation goes to directly to the youth of Louisiana. All gifts made to The Livestock Development Fund are fully tax deductible. Approximately 5,000 youth are involved in the LSU AgCenter s State Livestock Show over a 10 day period in February. Together with their families and friends, they bring approximately 20,000 people to the Ascension Parish and Baton Rouge area, making it the largest agricultural event in Louisiana.
