1 CURRENT RESPONSIBILITIES: Vice President Shaundra Lex Vice President, TCF Bank Conference Exhibitor Committee - MNAFP 35-Year Banking Career 12 + year membership MNAFP Board Position VP, President, Immediate Past President If elected I will work with the current board and committee members to continue to provide a forum for the exchange of information, ideas and best practices for Financial Professionals. I would work to encourage participation in the networking time available before and after our monthly meetings. While the speakers are always beneficial, I feel that we should engage the members in more dialog to encourage and challenge each other. I think one of the biggest challenges that we face is getting the members more involved and engaged. I think we need to find a way to encourage participation. One way to spark dialog is to create table topics for discussion. This could be done as a table ice breaker before the presentation or incorporated as part of a lunch event. I will also work to create additional networking opportunities for those that are interested.

It s been great to be part of the board for this short period of time. I would like to continue learning about MNAFP and improve on the job I ve done so far. I d also like to get more involved than I have been initially. For instance, help come up with topics for our monthly meetings and find speakers. I think the team has done a great job getting the financial professionals community involved already. I do think there s an opportunity to increase my involvement by helping in the recruiting process Whether it s for memberships, committees, monthly meeting speakers, etc. Maybe this is already happening with other board members, but I haven t been involved as much as I d like.

4 Minnesota AFP Experience Continued: I am currently on the board as the Immediate Past President and have been a board member since I originally joined MNAFP in 2007 and have been an active member since. This has been a phenomenal experience for me. I believe MNAFP directly impacts both our members personal and professional lives. I find the association to bring benefits to both myself, as well as my team. The meetings and functions bring personal growth advantages, in addition to tools and resources, which I can utilize to assist my team as they grow and increase their leadership skills. If elected as Treasurer, I will continue to promote the Minnesota Association of Financial Professionals, its programs, initiatives, and goals as we strive to offer education and resources to fellow professionals in our field. I will be an active board member encouraging participation and keeping current members engaged by continuing to provide solid resources. Our biggest challenge is both twofold and simple: Participation and Company sponsorship. As mentioned in the previous questions, we must provide resources, which will make a direct impact on both our members personal and professional lives. These resources will allow them to not only produce more, but to become more efficient and effective in their current roles, while preparing for future professional growth. As an association, we are lucky to have exceptional expertise within our organization, and to grow, we must leverage that expertise to create more energy interest, and increased membership base.

5 Treasurer Chris Moore, Senior Treasury Analyst Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota CURRENT RESPONSIBILITIES: My responsibilities include but are not limited to: cash flow, daily cash management activities, assist with short-term investment stratagy, administer of our corporate expense program, and any ad hoc analysis as needed. MA in Diplomacy, Norwich University BA in Social Science, Metropolitan State University Member since 2015 To oversee funding, ensuring resources are being used appropriately and the organization is sustainable in the long term. Biggest challenge I see is membership enrollment and monthly luncheon attendance. I believe the organization can expand membership participation if luncheons are held in other locations within the metro area. Maybe have luncheons hosted onsite by some of MNAFPs larger members. Utilizing social media, encouraging members to #tag MNAFP in posts and luncheons.

6 Membership Liaison Nick Chou, CTP, AAP Senior Treasury Management Advisor/Alerus CURRENT RESPONSIBILITIES: My current responsibilities include cultivating new relationships and providing effective working capital solutions including treasury management services. U of M Carlson School of Management I have been a member of MNAFP for 20 years. My plan is to support the MNAFP Board in membership retention and growing new members by allowing more interactive opportunities between members. The opportunity that is there for the financial association means going above and beyond just delivering information and data. Everyone at the organization and its members can offer up as a subject matter expert in this vast field. This can be exchange of ideas, industry best practices, etc. that can be shared with members in a forum like environment. This would allow its members to be more connected.
