2 Construction Occupational Health Event This is one of a series of partnership events run by the industry for the industry, as part of the UK-wide Working Well Together (WWT) campaign. The aim is not only to raise awareness of key health and safety issues facing the construction industry specific to your trade, but also to give practical advice on how to avoid risks on construction sites. If you have a small building, construction or contracting company, or if you are self-employed and would like up-to-date advice to help you get to grips with some of the health aspects of health & safety, this half-day event is a must. HSE Suppor t Practical Solutions Since October 2012 HSE has had to charge construction companies (including self-employed) 124 per hour for the time the HSE Inspector has to investigate/resolve material breaches of Health & Safety Law. This event will hopefully give you the knowledge/awareness to avoid HSE taking enforcement action against you/your company if they encounter you on site. BOOK NOW! Registration/food/refreshments/exhibitors Introduction from Paula Fletcher (Chair of the N&W Yorks WWT Group) Session on well-being in construction by the Yorkshire Occupational Health Consultancy (YOHC) Delegates will then be split into smaller groups and will rotate around the following sessions: Sessions from Peter Baldwin (HSL) on diesel engine exhaust fumes (4 x 30 mins) Sessions from Phil Haskins (Dustcontrol) on construction dust extraction equipment that is available (4 x 30 mins) Sessions from Vincent Jenkins (JSP) on what face fit testing is all about and respiratory protective equipment (RPE) (4 x 30 mins) A chance to look at exhibitors who will have products relevant to occupational health in construction & also safety in construction (4 x 30 mins) Delegates to complete feedback forms and event close There will be some free IOSH handouts on several different construction health and safety topics which delegates are free to take away with them. No dress code. (Site clothes acceptable) but no muddy boots inside please! Maximum of two delegates per company. The event is aimed at small/micro/ self-employed sized companies but larger companies are welcome to attend. BOOK NOW! WWT campaign reserves the right to amend this programme
