1 Miata Magic January 2019 Volume 30 Number 1 Annual Dinner Meeting Sunday, January 13, Noon / RSVP by Jan. 2 There s still time, though barely, to reserve Sunday, January 13, 2019 on your calendar for SCMC s Annual Dinner Meeting. Our hostess Bonnie Yoho has done an incredible job to arrange for a wonderful venue and a very special dining experience for this get together. The event will be held at the Eau Gallie Yacht Club, 100 Datura Drive, Indian Harbour Beach. Arrival time is Noon. Lunch will follow shortly thereafter. This is still a dress up event even though it is an afternoon luncheon. The menu choices are Chicken Chardonnay or Petit Filet Mignon. Your wine choices are Cabernet, Zinfandel or Pino Grigio. Soft drinks, water, and a crème brulee dessert are also included. The cost is $35 per member. Your payment of $35 per attendee must be received by Bonnie by January 2. Please let Bonnie know your entrée choice (Petit Filet Mignon, or Chicken Chardonnay) as well as your wine choice (Pinot Grigio, Cabernet, or Zinfandel). Note: No refunds after January 2. 8th Annual Florida Key Lime Festival Saturday, January 19 10 am 6 pm This is an un-hosted event, but several members will be attending.

Do you remember those vacuums that weighed 200 pounds and put all the dirt and dust back on the floor when you tried to empty the bag, even with a newspaper underneath? Answer on bottom of page 4. 8th Annual Florida Key Lime Festival Saturday, January am 6 pm This is an un-hosted event, but several members will be attending. Cost is $10 for each adult (age 13+), $5 for children (age 5-12); however, children under 4 and active and retired veterans are free. Tickets will be at the gate. Location: Brevard Veterans Memorial Park, 400 S. Sykes Creek Pkwy, Merritt Island (behind the mall). From their web site: The Florida Key Lime Pie Company will be featuring their Key Lime Pie in a Coconut, Key Lime Pie in a Cup, Key Lime Pie by the Slice and Whole Key Lime Pies, along with a vast array of other Key Lime products. There will be on-going outstanding live music, spectacular nationally featured street performers and local Florida vendors throughout the festival. The Florida Key Lime Pie Company will be sponsoring the company s ever popular Florida Key Lime Pie Eating Contest. The event will also feature a Key Lime Pie Toss Competition and Key Lime Pie Hula Hoop Challenge. 4 December Recap Christmas Holiday Party On Saturday, December 8th, 24 members arrived at a refurbished Hannah Wagner House in Village for our annual Christmas Holiday party. The newly installed air conditioning made it very comfortable in the bright white walls and varnished floors were quite nice. Lynn Achenbach, the event leader, and her helpers had all the tables decorated with Christmas greens and vases of flowers to welcome us in a festive spirit. We had delicious food provided by the club and brought in from the members from shrimp appetizers to mini chocolate eclairs for dessert. After a brief business meeting, 20 of us sat down and enjoyed the Yankee gift swap. Not sure if enjoyed is the word, as many gifts were swapped just when you thought you got what you wanted. Rick Laliker had the last number, and rather than take the last gift he went around looking to swipe the best looking gift so the next person did the same and we all had a great time. Bunnie Dow is sure she captured the prize of the night with a nicely handcrafted wooden box with flower lights. And inside was 2 pounds of coffee and a Pannetone cake.
