FOOD AND MUSIC LOVERS FROM ALL OVER THE COUNTRY WILL CONVENE IN THE HISTORIC VILLAGE OF RHUDDLAN TO CELEBRATE THE WEALTH AND DIVERSITY OF LOCAL FOOD AND DRINKS PRODUCERS AND LISTEN TO SOME TRULY GREAT MUSIC

3 2019 is here. Get involved Over the past four years we have brought Rhuddfest a family friendly music festival to the local community as well as attracting visitors from North Wales, attendees travel from Manchester and Liverpool areas too. Our main demographic is families and people aged 25 to 60 years. We all know the format, festivals are soon going to be underway up and down the country. With hefty entrance fees, and an overpriced burger or two, the public is often left significantly out of pocket and hungry for something more. In a market saturated with the traditional festival format, Rhuddfest aims to raise the bar. We believe in the need for a new kind of festival, one that delivers more, and instead offers up experiences, inspiration, learning and great music. We have sourced food and drinks, produced locally by people with passion, who care for our environment. These include real ales from Conwy Brewery produced within a ten minute drive from the festival site. Our spirit supplier, Aber Falls Distillery is one of only four in Wales, and the first in North Wales since the early 1900s. Located within a stone s throw of Rhaeadr Fawr, the famous Aber Falls waterfall. Whisky is distilled, bottled and matured in addition a premium range of small batch, handcrafted gins and liqueurs, using specially crafted Welsh ingredients from the surrounding area is also produced. Our Lager Beer producer Wrexham Lager is thought to be Britain's oldest lager brew, and was founded in 1882 by German immigrants Ivan Levinstein and Otto Isler. Rhuddfest represents a unique opportunity to deliver a meaningful message in an inspiring festival context. We aim to deliver an educational experience that will help to build new food communities, support and grow our local food networks, and leave participants considering the food they eat long after they return home.

4 WHAT WE HOPE TO ACHIEVE Over the past four years, attendance has grown exponentially by 100% year on year. This year more than 10,000 visitors are expected to attend. The 2019 programme will build on this success, offering activities for everyone, regardless of age and background. Rhuddfest aims to: Celebrate the wealth of independent food businesses, community projects and organisations that exist across the region Raise awareness of the range of ways that the public can engage with good food, signposting resources and opportunities for on-going engagement Build on North Wales' reputation as a leader in the field of local, independent food systems. Our strong partnerships, regional food producers, retailers and community projects mean we are uniquely positioned to deliver an extraordinary celebration of what is possible when a thriving local food scene comes out to play. It is our aim to continue to build an event that attracts national attention. WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT To make this event a success, and to secure our legacy in the long-term, we need financial support from the businesses and organisations already pioneering alternative ways of thinking about the food we eat. The more support we can gather, the more ambitious our reach, and the more powerful our impact.
