2 At the heart of Spirit Halloween is Spirit of Children, a program that brings FUN & FUNDING to hospitals at Halloween and all year long. We focus on hospitals that focus on kids because they need help to make hospital stays less scary for kids and their families. We started nine years ago with eleven hospitals in our own backyard and the belief that a great holiday should do great good...and it worked! Since then, we ve raised more than $22 million in cash & merchandise donations and have worked with over 130 children s hospitals across the United States and Canada during the 2014 season. Every dollar donated goes directly to the hospitals Child Life departments. This is a fantastic program that directly helps improve the quality of the hospital experience for our patients and their families! 3 Why Do We Support CHILD LIFE? CHILD LIFE is a unique and often under-funded department that provides developmental, educational and therapeutic support for children undergoing medical treatment. Trained Child Life Specialists help children and their families cope with the many stresses of being in a hospital setting. Why Child Life? Because Spirit of Children is COMMITTED to making hospitals less scary for kids. By supporting the incredible work that Child Life Specialists do for their hospitals and patients, we re helping to ensure that kids & their families are getting access to the resources they need for a better hospital stay. Donations are used to How Do We Do It? Throughout each Halloween season, all of Spirit Halloween s stores conduct in-store fundraising campaigns, raising $1 at a time to support their local hospitals. Texas Children s Hospital Our generous vendor and licensor partners donate cash & merchandise, as well. Last year, alone, we collected NEARLY $6 million in cash and merchandise donations. Purchase medical education equipment such as laptops, medical education dolls and toys designed specifically for children with physical challenges. Develop rehabilitative art, music and pet therapy programs. Build state of the art playgrounds & playrooms for disabled children. and much more!!! Dupont What makes our program so unique is that at the end of each season, every dollar collected is given directly to our Child Life departments. That s 100% of our proceeds!

With the help of our vendor & licensing partners, Spirit sponsors and hosts nearly 100 Halloween celebrations in children s hospitals throughout the U.S. and Canada.
