1 583 Hollywood Pl Webster Groves, MO The is an organization dedicated to fighting congenital heart defects by raising funds for the most promising research, spreading awareness of the deadly disease, and showing love and support to the children and families impacted by CHDs. In the past 3 years, we ve funded more than $150,000 of life-saving pediatric heart research from the nation s leading research scientists. We ve donated $25,000 to provide financial assistance to CHD families facing long hospital stays and countless medical bills. With full and open hearts, we ve dedicated the remainder to doing anything in our power to ensure these brave children and their families know they are loved, be it the child s favorite toy, gas cards to ease travel to and from the hospital, gift cards to local restaurants, tickets to a Cardinal game, a new train table for the cardiology office, a family membership to The Magic House, fingerprint art and jewelry for newly grieving families, a shoulder to cry on, or big, big hugs, we are devoted to wrapping these children and their families in love. Congenital Heart Defects (CHDs) are the most common birth defect in America, affecting approximately one in one hundred, or 40,000 newborns each year. CHDs are responsible for one third of all birth defect-related deaths and sadly 20 percent of children who make it through birth will not survive past their first birthday. In the US, a child is born with a CHD every 15 minutes, yet research continues to be grossly under-funded. Of every dollar the government spends on medical funding, only a fraction of a penny is directed toward congenital heart defect research. Oliver Ollie David Hinkle 11/28/11-1/3/13 The OHHF was founded in 2013 by Mark and Jenn Hinkle, following the death of their 1 year old son, Ollie. Ollie was born with a CHD and in his 13 months, he endured 3 heart surgeries, several hospital stays, and countless doctor visits. Though his time on Earth was short, he s made a huge impact,

2 thanks to his family s efforts to keep his spirit alive and their desire to make a difference in the CHD community. Our primary source of funding is an annual event, I Food & Wine. On November 6, 2016, 500 attendees, 50 volunteers, and 100 vendors will gather at The Ritz Carlton and enjoy samplings from 25 of St. Louis s top restaurants, more than 200 premiere wines, and 6 local brewers. Attendants will have the chance to bid on an exquisitely curated silent auction, as well as purchase raffle tickets for trips, weekend getaways, and high-end electronics. Our demographic is comprised of professional men and women between the ages of 25-75, with an annual household income of $100,000+. Thanks to advances in research, mortality rates from CHDs have declined by 30% in the last decade. Help lighten the load for a parent who s swamped in medical bills, traveling to and from the hospital, sometimes leaving behind a spouse and other children to care for their sick child at the nearest hospital with a pediatric heart center.
