2 Vision and Mission Vision As breas3eeding advocates we represent childbearing women and their families. We believe that breas3eeding is natural and provides the normal nourishment for infants, benefiang both mother and child. We come together in this coaliaon to provide a strong unified voice in the protecaon, promoaon and support of breas3eeding in Oneida, Vilas, Forest and Price CounAes. Mission Improving the health of our communiaes by protecang, promoang and supporang breas3eeding in Oneida, Forest, Vilas and Price CounAes.

3 Work Plan Progress 2015 Goal Increase the exclusivity, incidence, and duraaon of breas3eeding in Oneida, Forest, Vilas and Price counaes in accordance with the U. S. Healthy People 2020 Breas3eeding Maternal & Child Health ObjecAves, Healthiest Wisconsin 2020, and in collaboraaon with local Community Health Improvement Plans.

5 Work Plan Progress ObjecAve 1: Health Care Systems SupporAng Breas3eeding Suppor/ng BF training of local health care providers MD s and RN s azended presentaaon by Dr. Jennifer Thomas (May 2015) Atled Common Problems Moms Experience with BF and Strategies for a Successful PracAce 5 members azended the WALC Conference-March members azended the WBC Breas3eeding Summit-June 2015 Debra Durchslag paracipated in organizing and azended the WBC Conference on Maternity Care PracAces for Physicians- June 9, This event was promoted to local physicians but none paracipated. Brenda Husing provided a presentaaon to Ministry Health providers discussing the purpose of the WIC program and describing the services provided. HYMC and Marshfield Clinic created a BF Improvement Project-members MisA Lavin, Leslie Borne and Melissa KoengeZer are paracipaang Promote BF Friendly Physicians Offices Blaine Conley working with Dr. SleZe to remove infant formula and assure that Women s Health Office is not providing formula. Jesse Weigel has removed magazines that are not supporave of BF from waiang rooms. Promote BF Friendly Health Departments MCH funding focused on two BF objecaves in 2015 Prescrip/on drug addic/on affec/ng pregnant and breasceeding wome Vilas County reported follow up with providers regarding opioid addiaon and BF protocols from 2014 Annual MeeAng presentaaon.

Promote and support ini/a/ves to increase community awareness of BF through electronic, print and TV media Northwoods Breas3eeding CoaliAon on Facebook Press releases Men s perspec/ve on breasceeding support Breas3eeding educaaon classes offered at St. Mary s Members azended session at WBC Summit focused on fathers and breas3eeding Promote BF to other community organiza/ons Debra Durchslag presented the NWBC Experience with Social Media for the WBC March 20, 2015 networking call BF Friendly Child Care Centers Three members azended the Train the Trainer Session for BF Friendly Child Care Centers
