2 What is Key Club? Mission Statement: Key Club is an international student-led organization which provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership. Vision: We are caring and competent leaders transforming communities worldwide. Core Values: The core values of Key Club International are leadership, character building, caring, and inclusiveness.

6 What to expect A wide variety of Volunteer Opportunities Fundraisers for charities Get connected with Key Clubbers from other schools Serve the community Have fun! Meeting s: 1st and 3 rd Wedn esday of each mo n 7:30 AM th (usually) in the Le cture Hall

7 Club Fee: $25 THE BREAKDOWN: $12.50 goes to Kiwanis International Club T-Shirts Donuts at meetings!!! Club scholarships Insurance Membership fee due to bookkeeper by October 28 Scholarships Available: See Mrs. Childers in Room 34 Club fee must be paid before you can volunteer!

8 Point System UNITE Events - 10 points per hour Key Club Events - 5 points per hour Outside Events - 3 points per hour Meetings - 2 points per meeting To Receive A Letter: 200 points To Receive A Chord: 250 points (Returning Seniors Only) To Receive A Chord: 300 points (New Seniors Only) 4 meetings and 4 events per semester required to letter/chord

9 Signing Up for Events 1. Pay the club fee! You will not be able to sign up for any events until your dues are paid. 2. with your name and the event you d like to sign up for. You must tuhskeyclub@gmail.com at least 24 hours before the event takes place.

10 October Events Jackson Bottom Wetlands planting Saturday October 8th 8:45am - 1:00pm Location: 2600 Southwest Hillsboro Highway, Hillsboro, OR Details: Gloves, tools, and guidance are provided, as well as breakfast snacks and hot coffee/tea to get everyone fueled up! We'll be planting hundreds of native trees and shrubs and contributing to the watershed health and wildlife habitat. IMPORTANT: Must sign youth waiver (See ) Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration (3-4 People Max) Saturday October 8th 2:30pm - 4:30pm Location: Tualatin Public Library SW Martinazzi Ave, Tualatin, OR Details: Volunteers will help kids, teens, and adults learn how to make simple Maker activities, such as LED throwies, building challenges, catapults, slime, Vibrobots and copper circuits.

11 October Events UNITE - Library After Dark Event (25 Volunteers Max) Saturday October 8th 5:30pm - 8:30pm Location: Tualatin Library SW Martinazzi Ave, Tualatin, OR Details: Help greet and assist kids with the Scavenger Hunt and other activities. IMPORTANT: Sign youth waiver at entrance. Medical Teams International (15 Volunteer Max) Wednesday October 12th 4:30pm - 7:30pm Location: SW Milton Ct, Portland, OR Details: Volunteers will help organize, sort and pack medical supplies IMPORTANT: If you are under 18, you must fill out youth waiver before you go (See ) Also: NO OPEN TOED SHOES (flip flops/sandals), you can t volunteer if you wear them
