8 Two of our programs are celebrating anniversaries in 2015: 25 Years for the Storefront Program 10 Years for the Citizens on Patrol program Seven volunteers involved since the inception of these programs will receive a 2015 Ontario Volunteer Service Award at a ceremony May 12 th, 2015

14 A unique and innovative crime prevention program Involves trained volunteers who conduct mobile observations of their neighbourhoods Operate specially marked vehicles and report suspicious and concerning behaviour to Police for follow up via mobile radio Like Neighbourhood Watch on Wheels, allows for extra eyes and ears in the community

18 GSPS Storefronts are Community Information offices 30 Current Volunteers Six locations: Coniston, Capreol, Copper Cliff, Walden, Lionel E. Lalonde, Valley East
19 Storefront Friendly Call program: A complimentary service. Designed to connect senior citizens with a GSPS volunteer caller. The individual regularly receives a call to inform them of community events and check on their well being. Our volunteers currently call 12 people

21 16 cameras/ 20 volunteers We have trained over 50 people: including staff, Auxiliary and COP volunteers Advisory Committee consists of 10 members who oversee the implementation of the program and assist with recruiting initiatives.
22 10 Volunteers & Board Members Hosts over 500 guests annually: school groups, tourists, foreign dignitaries Poster Projects Old Rock specialized coffee blend Night Shift
23 The Band is currently comprised of almost 25 members including pipers, drummers, and drum majors. Attend 50 + events per year Annual representation at Police Memorial in Ottawa in September
24 Youth years Act as advisors and give input on youth issues. A connection between youth and Police Annual Courage to Stand Event 2015 will be 5 th year Over 100 students contingency from every secondary school
25 Established in 1989 Enhance relations between GSPS & ethnic/racial groups Work in conjunction with GSPS Inclusion Team Organize annual luncheon for International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination Partner with area post secondary institutions to support newly arrived students through ride-alongs with Police officers
26 Gives you a sense of satisfaction knowing you are helping your community Not just Police Foundation Students! 250 VOLUNTEERS Variety of ages from under 18 to over 80 All walks of life and every facet of the community: post secondary students, middle-aged couples, retired seniors. 44 The Down Syndrome Association of Sudbury (DSAS), established in 1988, organizes and participates in annual Buddy Walk to raise awareness and promote a positive and accurate image of persons with Down syndrome by promoting acceptance and inclusion.
