3 WHAT IS THE HOPE GALA? The Hope Gala is committed to conquering childhood cancer by raising awareness, providing financial assistance, and supporting the fundraising efforts of Penn State Dance Marathon (THON), which benefits Four Diamonds, through our annual gala and yearround fundraising. The Hope Gala is a 100% volunteer-led organization The Hope Gala, Inc. All rights reserved. The Hope Gala is a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. All financial gifts are tax-deductible to the maximum extent allowed by law.

4 The Hope Gala was founded in 2008 by the New York City Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association with support from the Northern New Jersey Chapter. Since then, The Hope Gala has raised nearly $800,000 towards the mission of conquering childhood cancer. Four Diamonds is the sole beneficiary of THON's fundraising activities and THON is their largest contributor. Since the Hope Gala was founded, we have experienced incredible growth. The organization is now led by an Executive Committee of 14 Volunteer Directors, 4 Special Project Coordinators and an Advisory Board of 13 highly accomplished individuals spanning various industries in the tri-state area. Year-round fundraising efforts culminate in a total raised reveal during our annual gala event. $2,500 Provides 25 hours of psychological counseling for patients to help communicate and heal through the treatment process $5,000 Funds two weeks of cancer research $7,500 LIFE Provides private rooms for 3 Four Diamonds Patients $10,000 Provides two months of ongoing outpatient treatment for a child $15,000 Funds one year of disposable supplies for a cancer researcher
