1 Berri District Youth Club End of Year Newsletter Important Dates Working Bee Saturday 21st January 10am-1pm Includes a FREE lunch. Members only. Parent helpers must be a registered volunteer with the club. Merry Christmas Kindergym Starts Wednesday 1st February 9.30am-10.30am (Babies to 5 year olds) Register on the day Aqua-batics Saturday 4th February 11am-12pm Topaz and Platinums only Registration Day Saturday 11th February 10am-4pm All members must register each year to maintain their placement. Coaches Workshop Saturday 18th February 10am-12pm (All coaching staff) Gymnastics Starts 27th Feb 2nd March (All groups) Term One Finishes 10th 13th April (All groups) Our Vision is that the Berri District Youth Club Inc. is recognised within the community for developing gymnastics as the best physical and personal activity for the youth in the area. Our Mission is to provide the opportunities for all members regardless of sex, race or ability to develop their involvement, skill level and personal satisfaction in their chosen sport.

2 Coaches Corner Coaches/Committee Lunch 26 volunteers attended our end of year Lunch and Presentations at the Berri Hotel. They enjoyed a lovely lunch and volunteers received a special gift bag for the many hours they send in the gym and out and about running and promoting the club. Thanks to everyone for giving up their spare time so that more Riverland kids can do gymnastics! You are all amazing!!! Gymnaestrada Fundraising (Austria-2019) Bunnings BBQ Thank you to everyone who helped out with our two BBQ fundraisers and to all the families who purchased their lunch on the day. Thanks also to Bunnings who run the BBQ fundraisers and to Top Catch Barmera for donating the ice to keep our drinks nice and cold. We raised $1,200 towards our trip to Austria. Holiday Program The fun continued with the Holiday Program. Thank you to everyone who participated in our Term 3 program during the school holidays and to everyone who helped out on the day. Gym SA Club of the Year Award The perpetual trophy was looking a bit worse for wear having made the club rounds since So we decided to give it the once over. A Big Thank You to Bill Wilksch who restored the trophy to its former glory. It looks fantastic and Gym SA and Acromat agree.

3 New Clubrooms Project Riverland Wine and Food Festival Well done to all our Adult members who worked at the festival this year. They were flat out setting up, keeping the area clean & tidy, collecting donations and packing up afterwards. This time we also had our own soft drink stand thanks to a donation from Bickford s. Thank you to Chilli Chocolate Marketing for selecting us again this year. We raised $1,700 on the day-fantastic effort everyone!!! 24 Hour Tramp-a-thon Thank you to everyone who participated in our Tramp-athon fundraiser and collected sponsors & donations. The sleepover crew had a wonderful tea and breakfast. Thanks to Bella Lavendar for supplying all the yummy pizzas, Ocean Blue for the chips and Glenview Poultry for the eggs. Also to Riverland Sunfresh for all the lovely fresh fruit! Congratulations to Michael Herrmann who won a special prize for raising the highest amount of $ The final amount raised was approx $1,700. Lions Club Calendars All funds we raise go towards the purchase of our Foam Training Pit. They make a great Christmas gift, so hop to it!! Call Jane for any final orders. Gymnastics Camp 25 gymnasts and coaches from the BDYC and the Para Hills Gymnastics Club enjoyed a gymnastics camp at Berri recently. Participants took part in Aqua-batics at the Berri Swimming Pool, Air Track, Euro-Tramp, Trampoline, German Wheel and Acrobatics. Para Hills members went down to Glassey Park to see the building site of our New Clubrooms and enjoyed tea at the Big River Tavern.

4 School Gymnastics Program Almost 200 students from the Berri Primary School participated in this year s School program. Participants got to try out the Beam, Parallel Bars, Uneven Bars, Vault, Mini-tramp, Sprung floor, Air Track, German Wheel, Ribbons and Hoops. If your school is interested in some gymnastics classes please contact Jane McFarlane Kindergym Kids Our Kindergym group enjoyed their annual Christmas break up recently with a special morning tea and a visit from Father Christmas. Thank you to everyone for supporting our program for the little ones and for helping pack up afterwards, ready for the afternoon gymnastics classes. Thank you also to the Silvers group who set up the apparatus for us each week Kindergym starts. Wednesday 1st February am Register on the day Barmera Christmas Pageant 18 Members participated in this year s Jungle themed pageant float. Including club President Peter Jarvis, in the gorilla suit!! Thank you to Ian McFarlane for the use of his car and trailer and to Jay Thomson for driving the float. Best dressed boy was Benjamin and best dressed girl was Mia.
