Please inquire to to sign up ** Highlights for August 2015 Trauma Informed Peer Support Training This highly interactive, unique training brings together the values of peer support with trauma-informed approaches. Using a combination of presentation, discussion and individual and group exercises, attendees will emerge understanding how to effectively apply trauma-informed practices to peer support. Presenters: Leah Harris, Director of the National Coalition for Mental Health Recovery who is a nationally recognized leader in the mental health recovery movement for over 13 years. Leah has written and spoken widely about her own experiences of serious mental health challenges, trauma, addiction, suicide, and recovery of life and purpose. Oryx Cohen, Acting Director of the National Empowerment Center whose work is informed by his lived experience with altered states of consciousness: being diagnosed, hospitalized, and subsequently finding a path to healing.
