Class will resume February 4 ANNOUNCEMENTS WEEK OF JANUARY 14, 2018 From Our Board of Directors At it's first meting of the new year, St. Andrew's Board of Directors elected Glen Harvel to serve as Chairperson, re-elected Paul Lobien to serve as Vice-Chair, and re-appointed Bruce Winter to serve as Treasurer. We pray for God's blessings on their service and give thanks for our out going Chairperson Karen Rosales, whose term on the board continues. Social Ministry Planning Meeting Monday, January 15 9:30 am All are welcome to attend this meeting on MLK Monday in the Conference Room. The team will finalize plans for February and March activities and begin planning for summer food distribution to needy children. Come for coffee and lively discussion about future projects and new ways we might serve. Bring your ideas! Maybe you will decide to join the team? Women's Rogate Circle Meeting Tuesday, January 16 7:00 pm Come for fun, fellowship, and a Bible Study as we start off the New Year. Women of all ages and stages are welcome! Rogate meets on the third Tuesday of every month, and alternates between Bible Study and crafts that are used for service projects. 2 NAMI Parent Support Group Thursday, January 18 7:00 pm 8:30 pm All parents of children and young adults living with mental illness are welcome to come on the first and third Thursdays of the month to share experiences and encourage one another. Facilitated by members Tamara & Michael Arsenault, supported by the Montgomery County Chapter of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness). Held in the Prayer Room, Lower Level. Questions? 3 C-4 Help Needed In January, St. Andrew will be providing volunteers to sort and hang clothes at the C-4 Center just south of the church on New Hampshire Avenue. Numbers: Learning Contentment in a Culture of "More" Mondays at 7:00 pm Study the Book of Numbers to learn about the discontent of the Israelites as God led them out of slavery, and through it discover more about why we complain, and how we can be authentic about suffering and yet find contentment as we move away from worry and envy toward peace in Christ, no matter the circumstances.
