2 Environmental Awareness Raising Aims: To equip the ground floor as a training and meeting space To organise an inspirational programme of events and activities at the centre To draw in new people to learn about environmental issues To draw in new people to volunteer for environmental work DROP-IN Sessions 2013
3 Environmental Awareness Raising Activity Organiser: A dedicated Activity Organiser for the Prospects Environment Centre To organise training, events and activities at the centre To publicise and promote the training, events and activities A part-time post (2 days per week for 2 years) 15 hours Equipment to set up the Training Room and Displays Costs of external trainers, speakers and resources needed to deliver training and awareness-raising activities

5 local people engage positive benefits PEC Enquiries to end of May 2015 Activities 31- April to October attendances; 177 people attended at least one event. Target 250 Volunteer enquiries = 96 up to end of May 2015 Target 200 Enews (What s On) increased from 250 to 455 to date - Target 500 (MIAMI 38 and Men s Sheds 12)
6 Community Consultation: PEC Survey was used 27 questionnaires completed People selected from a suggested list of 26 topics People asked to make their own suggestions What People Want spreadsheet drawn up This changed between Oct 2013 and July 2014 and has changed again Activities were based around the PEC Survey 79 own suggestions were made most suggested only once but a few were mentioned up to 4 times max e.g. willow weaving, joint working with other agencies, veg box scheme

9 training, events and activities 31 Events through Windfall and Awards for All Traditional crafts and Emergency First Aid Other events Fracking, Whalley Hydro, drop-in such as recycling, chainsaw course, One Planet Planters, Inspire, Fairtrade, Friends of the Earth, bird box building, Bookshare Café, tool maintenance, organic food, consultation for Growing Wild, Risk Assessment, Map & Compass/GPS, Bird ID, One Planet Shop event, Homewise meetings, bat talk, film shows, Young Carers and the LCC Healthy Streets drop-in event,
10 local people engage positive benefits - CCG November 14 to March 15 Target 126 places on 18 activities. We achieved 377 places on 33 activities 19 activities led by volunteers 65 beneficiaries - creative activities, formal learning 13 people achieved a formal employment qualification and 15+ people will get an AQA Award

12 Enhancing the Home Green Living Green Homemaking Natural Body Care Green Cleaning 65 people attended one or more 33 Green Living activities Total attendance meant that 237 places were filled 15 people qualified for an AQA Achievement Award - others are still completing their hours and evidence

15 Feedback Comments Room is very cold (lots of comments before and after Christmas) Room is small People are enjoying learning new skills, techniques, Meeting like-minded people, meeting friendly people, Making and preparing, learning, socialising Activities are practical, informative, interactive, inspiring and invigorating although one was disappointing Would like longer sessions Move to bigger premises to accommodate more people (12-15 is max)
