Sewrec Ltd Newport 323,155 The project will support women at risk of sexual abuse, domestic abuse and exploitation because of their involvement in the commercial sex trade. A range of services will be provided to minimise harm and address urgent issues, create stability in finding accommodation, access benefits and help them make choices about longer term goals in their life. The grant, over three years will fund salaries, evaluation, project running costs, small capital equipment and management costs. Headway Cardiff Cardiff 364,374 The project will provide support and services and directly impact on the recovery and stress levels of survivors of Acquired Brain Injury in Cardiff, Newport, the Vale of Glamorgan, Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Torfaen and Rhondda Cynon Taff. New activities will be introduced including weekly activity groups for the individuals and their families and specific support with Welfare Benefit and Personal Independent Payment entitlements. The grant over three years will fund salaries and project delivery costs.
2 Llwyngwril Community Cooperative Limited Spina Bifida, Hydrocephalus Information Networking Equality (SHINE) Gwynedd 248,963 The project will revitalise the village of Llwyngwril, a small coastal village in Gwynedd. It will redevelop a recently closed school into a self sustaining hub of community activity and provide a venue for many of the services lost in the village, such as a hairdresser, cafe, chiropodist to return and will benefit all ages within the community. The three year grant will be used to cover full refurbishment costs, project expenses and the salary costs. Cardiff 249,253 The project will support people across Wales who have Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus. It will develop a network of face to face and online support groups, information sessions and an information service, as well as individual support for those who have a higher level of need. The grant, over three years, will fund the salaries and associated costs of two full time and one part time Support and Development workers. It will also pay for project delivery costs and small items of office equipment. Iris Prize Outreach Limited Cardiff 247,462 The project will work to build tolerance and understanding of Wales Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgendered communities in 36 locations across Wales, promoting equality and diversity alongside community cohesion. In undertaking activities including film making and project managing mini film festivals, the project will develop essential and personal skills of participants. The three year grant will pay for salaries, recruitment, project delivery costs and capital equipment.
3 The Infertility Network (UK) Cardiff 88,938 The project will develop services for individuals and couples in Wales who are experiencing fertility issues. Services will include a face to face and online support groups, and an information service. The project will help to reduce feelings of isolation for beneficiaries, and enable them to make informed choices. The grant, over three years, will pay for the salary and associated costs of a part time post as well as project delivery costs. Swansea Womens Aid Swansea 456,076 The project is to expand and increase the level of services provided by Swansea Women s Aid for the benefit of women and children who have or are experiencing domestic abuse. Services include one to one support, tailored programmes, counselling and homeopathy. The grant, over three years, will fund the salaries and associated costs of 3 full time posts. It will also pay for project delivery costs, overheads and small items of office equipment. The Wave Project CIC Bridgend 142,000 The Wave Project Cymru will run surf courses and a surf club based in Port Talbot and Porthcawl for young people aged 8 to 21 with mental health difficulties or who are at risk of social exclusion. The surf therapy will complement any therapies the individuals may be receiving and will operate on a referral system; it is aimed specifically at young people from Neath, Port Talbot, Bridgend, Vale of Glamorgan, Cardiff and Newport. The grant over three years will fund salary costs and project delivery costs.
4 The S.A.F.E. Foundation Cardiff 172,556 The project will recruit and train new volunteers aged 16 to 25 mainly from disadvantaged communities, to run projects in Wales and contribute towards overseas projects. This will develop young people s confidence and skills, improve their employability and their understanding of different cultures. The three year grant will fund salary costs, line management, recruitment, expenses, rent, training, monitoring, marketing and office equipment. Pictures to Share Community Interest Company Play Radnor / Radnorshire Play Network Carmarthenshire 47,309 The project will develop a range of visual media suitable for Welsh speaking people with dementia, enabling them to communicate and engage more effectively with carers and loved ones. This will improve the relationship between them through facilitating meaningful conversation, prompted by the visual media, reducing instances of negative interaction. The grant, over one year, will fund salary costs, project delivery costs, filming, editing and production of DVDs. Powys 250,000 The project, based in Llandrindod Wells, will provide a dedicated play centre and hub for children and young people from birth to the age of 25, to include children with special needs or disabilities. The new facility will broaden the current provision offering space for activities, sessions and workshops. Outreach services will also be expanded to new areas in Radnorshire and North Brecknockshire. The two year grant will used to purchase and refurbish new premises, salaries and project delivery costs.
5 Marie Curie The Vale of Glamorgan 196,127 The project will improve access to palliative care services in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan for people with learning disabilities, dementia, and diverse or no religious backgrounds. It will identify the barriers faced by these communities and implement changes to the organisation s services to address these barriers. The grant, over three years, will pay for the full time salaries and associated costs of a Project Manager and an Administrator. It will also pay for project delivery costs and overheads.
