1 Pass it on.. Have you sponsored a member lately? Okay, you asked for it, you got it! Big Band Night returns on August 18th. Blue Moon Entertainment provides the best in digitally Re-mastered big band music for your listening, singing and dancing pleasure. All for the low admission price of $15.00 per couple. Tickets limited to 70, get yours now! Our monthly Family breakfast has been set for July 8th and Aug 12th. The breakfast will run from 9-11AM. Fresh eggs or omelets made to order, bacon or sausage, pancakes, french toast, fresh fruit, juice and much more will be available for a nominal charge. A special kid s menu will be on hand, enjoy a fine breakfast with your family and friends.

2 The Lodge Sports Committee is forming a fall bowling league to be played at El-Mar bowling alley located at 85th & Harlem Avenues. The league will be a mixed league with at least one man and/or one woman on each four man team. In other words there cannot be a all male or all female team, each team must have at least one member of the opposite sex. Handicap limits will be set and the first organizational meeting is Southwest #44 has adopted the portion of Harlem Ave from 7100 South to 8700 South. Chairman Earl Fleischresser has called for the next clean-up on October 15th If you have a few hours to donate we could sure use you. We meet at the Lodge and split into teams and proceed to pick up our assigned area. Upon completion we return to the Lodge for a complimentary lunch and social hour. Please come be a part of this Community Service Project.project. Contact Earl for further information. scheduled for Monday, July 30th at 7PM. The meeting will take place at the Lodge home. Actual bowling is set to be on Monday Evenings at 7PM. All interested members are invited to attend, bring your team or if you cannot get a team together we can try to set one up at the meeting. This is a most important meeting and all interested parties are encouraged to attend as we need to organize at least ten four person teams. See you there!!

Every Friday evening Karaoke is at your Family Center, free, free, free. Come join you friends from your Lodge and visiting Lodges as Blue Moon Entertainment presents the best karaoke in town. Music starts right after the Friday Family Dinner. Come on down for a terrific time The Lodge has authorized a waiver of enrollment fees through April 2008 for every new or former member. The applicant will be required to pay only his dues, with the membership committee paying the enrollment fees, a savings of $ Our current campaign offers sponsors a free dinner at our Friday Night Meal or Pasta Night. At press time we are awaiting the announcement of the new international campaign but rest assured terrific sponsor incentives are sure to be on hand. In addition to all that by sponsoring just one member, you will be invited to a exclusive preferred member party in May You and your guest will be invited to this free special party and be recognized as one who cares enough to share the Moose experience with his friends, relatives or associates. The Board is in the process of planning some new fun things. We are also going to have some afternoon affairs. So watch your Moose News and we will try to keep you informed. In May some of the Officers and I attended the 2007 graduation at Mooseheart. We had four students sponsored by our Lodge graduate, two boys and two girls. One of the girls was Susan Crow, daughter of our own co-worker Shirley Crow. I m sure a lot of you remember Susan, she used to come to the Chapter a lot with her mother. We wish all 19 graduates good luck in their future. Congratulations to Mary Helene Rombach! She was elevated to the College of Regents at the International Convention in Orlando. Anyone who attended the Convention came home with renewed spirit. We are now getting ready for the State Convention is St Louis this August, where we a sure to have a good time. So don t forget to drop by on a Weds night, bring a friend and see what we are doing Have a safe and happy summer. What a better way to become friends with your fellow coworkers and at the same time insure our twin cities of their well being by giving our children the care they need and our seniors peace and contentment in their golden years. We have had several new members join in the past few months and welcome each of you and invite you to become active, join us at our meetings and met new friends. 5 Yikes, we are off and running with the Moose News for July and August. As you might know the news is actually written two months ahead and it s actually only June. The new board has been busy planning fun events for the next few months, along with meeting our Mooseheart requirements. The board is trying to plan some afternoon affairs for those co-workers who are unable to come out at night. Even if you are unable to attend our fundraisers maybe you could consider purchasing a ticket ($3.50) once in a while to show your support for the Chapter. Because in turn, your donation will be supporting Mooseheart and Moosehaven. As always, when you pay your dues or sponsor a new member you are also supporting the children at Mooseheart and the seniors at Moosehaven. If nothing else, think of it as a donation, like you make to your Church or favorite charity Speaking of Mooseheart, some of us were able to attend the graduation of four of the kid s sponsored by our Lodge. When you attend the graduation or just go out to Mooseheart and see the homes and meet the kid s you then can appreciate where your dues go. We have our Dollar a Month Club going on, have you heard about that? It started in June but you can still join. For a dollar a month you could be the winner of $ Each month we have a drawing and someone will win $ See Donna Sotor, she is at our Chapter functions and also VIP meetings. We have scheduled a Blast out Bingo on July 18th, a charge of $3.50 to play, July 30th, a Monday, at 2PM we will be having a Pot Luck Dinner for members of the Academy of Friendship. For the month of July, our community service project will be collecting Baby needs for Chicago Women s Center. Please participate in this most important project. August 15th brings us an all time favorite, a ice cream social and cake walk for a nominal fee of $4.50 sponsored by the educational advancement committee. August 29th we will be having a Pokeno night cost $3.50 sponsored by the P.E.P. committee. How does everyone like the changes in the Moose News? Larry has been trying to fill the Moose News with lots of information and yet try to keep the cost of publication down. It s not an easy job and we should appreciate his effort. We all look forward to reading the articles in the news and I m sure we are all happy to see it return, THANKS LARRY. The end of June found some of our co-workers in Florida at the International Convention. Mary Rombach made the Chapter proud when she received her College of Regents Degree. On July 15th the co-workers of our Chapter and others will celebrate this occasion with Mary at Mama Luigi s for a great meal and social friendship as we honor Mary on her accomplishment. Then in August we are off again to attend our State Convention in St. Louis. This convention always proves to be a great time. This convention is attended by all Chapters from the State of Illinois, this is where we get to make some real lasting friendships along with learning more about our organization during session and look forward to evenings of fun in the hospitality rooms. Members, it has been some time since we have had a Newsletter for you. The same Officers stayed on this years as we received no letters of interest. I know we did a terrific job and will continue to do so. Our volunteers are a great and helpful group also thanks to them. If you are not a member now and are interested in joining, we have our meetings on the first and third Mondays of each month at the Oremus Center located at 79th & Oketo Avenues. Doors open at 9:00AM, membership dues are only $4.00 per year and at each meeting there is a $2.00 charge for coffee, tea and sweet roll served at 10:00AM. We have a 50/50 raffle and play bingo if you wish, after the meeting, at noon. Come out, see what we do, your sure to enjoy yourself. The coming events are a Flea Market on August 20th, Octoberfest on October 15th, our Christmas party will be on December 10th at the Paradise Banquet Hall. As you can see we have a full slate of fun activities and always have a fun time with friends every month. Nominations for Officers will take place in November and should you be interested submit a letter of intent to any Officer. In closing, with a sad heart I want to remind you of the many members we lost this past year and so many who had to go to the hospital for their ills.
