1 Reflections May 2017 PLANT TOUR DUNKIRK SPECIALTY STEEL Joint Meeting with the Northwestern PA Chapter Thursday May 25, 2017 Tour: 6:00 pm Dinner: 7:45 pm The Dunkirk facility produces finished bar, rod and wire products in a wide variety of specialty steel grades sold to service centers, forgers and original equipment manufacturers. Please wear appropriate attire. No shorts, open-toed shoes, sandals or gym shoes. Any hard sole shoe is acceptable. Hard hats, safety glasses and ear protection will be supplied. TOUR LOCATION: Dunkirk Specialty Steel 830 Brigham Rd (Stop at the Guard Station) Dunkirk, NY DINNER LOCATION: Clarion Inn and Conference Center 30 Lake Shore Drive, Dunkirk COST: Members/Guests $25.00 Students $10.00 MENU: Dinner choices are as follows: 1) Caribbean Jerk Pork Tenderloin 2) Mediterranean Chicken Pasta 3) Faroe Island Crusted Salmon Dinners come with salad, baked potato, and vegetable of the day. 2 Chapter Update This year s Student s Night had an exceptional turn out! We had an exciting number of participants, with many questions asked, leading to a very informative discussion! Our next event will be a joint meeting with ASM s Northwestern PA Chapter at the Dunkirk Specialty Steel Plant on May 25 th followed by a joint-chapter dinner. This is a great opportunity to see a steel plant in the Western New York region, and an opportunity to network with a neighboring ASM chapter. We also have our annual year-end golf outing coming up! Please see the event listings for more details. We are still receiving survey results, as a reminder, please check your and fill out the survey! We will be contacting those who expressed an interest in joining the board or hosting a tour sometime next month. Our chapter members feedback is important to continue providing exciting guest speakers, tours, and networking opportunities! This was a great year for tours and guest speakers and we hope to bring you an exciting round of programs next year! We hope to see you at the golf outing, and have a great summer!
