2 YPAC AT A GLANCE The members of the Mujeres Young Professionals Advisory Council serve as ambassadors to increase awareness and support Mujeres Latinas en Acción's work by promoting and creating philanthropic activities that increase community leadership and involvement. Pictured: Groupo Charangueo playing live salsa at Baile de las Calveras on Nov. 15, 2013 BAILE DE LAS CALAVERAS TIDBITS On November 15, 2013, YPAC hosted the 4th annual Baile de las Calaveras at the Abbey Pub and raised nearly $5,000 in funds for Mujeres Latinas en Accion. More than 350 guests enjoyed live music from Grupo Charangueo, skull face painting, fortune teller readings, fabulous raffle prizes and custom t-shirts from No Manches. Photos from the event can be found on the YPAC Facebook page. Our generous sponsors included Gensler, Southwest Airlines, the Chicago Bears, the Chicago Fire, D Cuba restaurant, D Noche restaurant and Flores & Associates. We look forward to seeing you at our Baile de Las Calaveras Fundraiser next year! 3

UPCOMING EVENTS YPAC Information Session The YPAC Membership Committee is happy to announce an Informational Event for interested applicants will be held on April 2, 2014 at Mujeres Latinas en Acción headquarters located at 1823 W. 17 th Street, Chicago, IL from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. YPAC Beer Tasting Fundraiser All interested applicants are invited to attend this event to learn more about Mujeres Latinas En Acción s Young Professional Advisory Council (YPAC). This is a perfect opportunity to meet members of this community and learn firsthand about Mujeres Latinas En Acción and YPAC s role as ambassadors of Mujeres. The application process will also be discussed at this time. 5 Professional Development Series: Linkedin Workshop for YPAC Members The first workshop of the professional development series was held at BLUE Roberto Lopez, Futuro Studios, facilitated a Linkedin workshop for YPAC members. Members learned how to use Linkedin in for both professional networking and entrepreneurial ventures. Basic functions were covered as well as Linkedin Do s and Don ts. BLUE1647 (Blue1647.com) is an impactful innovation center in Chicago, IL focusing on tech education, people development, and entrepreneurial events.
