Nominations for Auxiliary Officers will be held on Wednesday, 26 h - Meeting at 6:30 pm. All offices for Aerie & Auxiliary will be open All members are eligible to run for any office!! Elections, if necessary, will be held on Wednesday May 3 rd for Aerie and Wednesday May 10 th for Auxiliary. If you are interested in running for an office, please mark your calendar and plan to attend the meetings on 19 th or 26 th. **Please Note: If you are interested in running for an office but cannot attend the meetings scheduled above, you must submit in writing, your letter to the Aerie President or Secretary. 2 R.E.A.C. NEWS: The R.E.A.C. luncheon will be held on Tuesday 11 th. We will meet Hibachi Grille on Westnedge at Kilgore. Meet at noon. Come down to the club and purchase these delicious "Dutch Donuts" anytime from 11 am to 7 pm We will be selling "Olie Bollens" all day so plan to join us for a delicious Friday Dinner which will be served from 5 pm -7 pm. March Game Day Winners Were: Jim Patmalnieks & Jammie Glisson Last game day for the season is 8 th The final game day for the season!!! We will have the regular rounds plus the championship rounds!! **** Also look for a special Auction!!! Sign up will begin at noon and the games will start at 1:00 pm. We will play cornhole and shuffleboard each game day. Hotdogs & chips will be available from noon to 4 pm. The cost is by donation only with proceeds to our Charity, Challenger Little League. 4 FUNERAL LUNCHEONS ANNUAL CHARITY JAM FUNDRAISING EVENT For any information regarding funeral luncheons, please contact Joyce Hansen (269) Our Auxiliary offers a funeral luncheon for any member who has been a member in good standing for a minimum of 2 years. There is a minimum charge of $100 for up to 80 guests. Anything over 80 is $150. We offer this service to parents, children, or siblings of the member. The Annual Charity Fundraiser has been scheduled for Saturday 22 nd at the club. This event is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC and will begin at noon. Cover charge is $1. 00 This event will include a variety of bands, along with MC for the day, "Rockin Ronnie"!! All proceeds for this event will be allocated to local charities. We will have a bake sale, auction, food served from noon to 5 pm, Entertainment and the ever famous "Jail"!! ROOM RENTAL INFORMATION For any information about rental of the activity room for any party i.e.: Wedding, Birthday, Anniversary, please contact: Terry (269) or leave a message for Terry at the club for him to contact you. For newsletter purposes, contact Uta Wooden at the club. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS AND BAKED GOODS FOR THIS EVENT!!! There will be a sign-up sheet available next to the bar and if you could help in any way that day, it would be so appreciated. It takes a big group of people working together to organize and sponsor an event such as this. We would like to encourage members to solicit donations from businesses. See an officer for the donation letter. Members may also donate a worthy item for auction to help raise money for our charities! 4

5 BUD ISRAELS SCHOLARSHIP FUND: BUD ISRAELS SCHOLARSHIP TO OUR MEMBERS: Anyone can make a donation or memorial contribution on behalf of loved ones at any time, to be used as part of this ongoing scholarship fund. Any & all donations are greatly appreciated as we plan to continue with our scholarship effort for years to come! Checks should be made payable to: F.O.E Scholarship fund. Applications are being accepted for the 2016 Bud Israels Memorial Scholarship. The deadline for applications is June 30 th. The Scholarship Committee will award a scholarship to an area high school graduate (graduates). Any interested high school senior can apply, if they meet the following criteria: 1) Must have a GPA of 2.5 or better and provide a high school transcript. 2) Must have a letter of acceptance to a college, university, or technical school. 3) Must be a child or grandchild of an F.O.E. #3531 member, who has been a member in good standing for a minimum of two years. 6 CHILI COOK-OFF MOTHER / DAUGHTER BANQUET The winners of our Chili Cook-Off held on March 5 th were as follows: 1 st place Threse Krajewski 2 nd place Ken Pfost 3 rd place Cindi Rose - Wightman Congratulations to the winners!! Also, thanks to everyone who contributed to this event and to those who came to support our club! A fun day was had by all! HIGHWAY PICK-UP The Portage-Schoolcraft Eagles sponsors a mile of highway for the national adopt a highway program. We take care of U.S. 131 from Shaver Road to Centre Street, making the highway close to home a better-looking stretch of road. Each year volunteers walk this stretch of highway and pick up the trash to keep our roadsides clean. This year's trash pickup will be on Saturday 15 th. Meet at the club at 10:00 am. The old saying MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK holds very true in this endeavor. Please come down to support this worthy effort. The annual "Mother / Daughter Banquet" will be Thursday, May 11 th. The sign-up sheet will be behind the bar starting 1 st. The deadline for sign up will be May 4 th, NO EXCEPTIONS as we must set the menu. Cost is $5. 00 / person Cocktails at 6:00 pm Dinner at 7:00 pm RAFFLE TICKETS FOR CHARITY JAM We will have a raffle to be drawn on the afternoon of charity Jam.
