3 ISSUE# DESCRIPTION CHAMPION STATUS Call To Order 8-1 Minutes July 6, 2010 Board Meeting Minutes reviewed and approved. All 8-2 Treasurer s Report Caree did not present a formal report due to the month-end being so close to the meeting. There is currently $1,257 in the Bank of America Account. Several large bills paid out (annual meeting awards, symposium invoices, etc.). Working on summary of the annual meeting. 8-3 President s Report WWP - Approximately 3-4 Board members will be attending; will inquire with HQ to see how many have registered after the early bird registration so the Board can make a decision whether or not to host a chapter reception. Golf outing - $4,000-5,000 profit will be yielded. Associates Committee discussing bringing it closer to Chicago and to also get more information on how many from the Chapter attended this year. Midwest Symposium Budget summary shared; event was very well received but the bottom line had a deficit of over $7,000. The EC is working on a process to prevent large losses going forward whereby any program or event that will experience expenses over $700 will require documentation and approval by the EC. The formal details of the processes will be published and shared with the Board. RealCom Seminar (Energy & Sustainability Seminar), Tuesday, September 28 th ; we are cohosting and will get some proceeds from the halfday event. Recommendation we have chapter presence (i.e., materials available about IFMA at the event). Caree Martens Kevin Corrigan Associates Committee 8-4 Reported earlier (golf). Liz Zacek Career Services 8-5 Brainy Bites program for next week being promoted; working toward program details for November. Mickey Archambault 3

4 Communications 8-6 Drew reported that he has had discussions with Building Connect an online calendar tool; he will continue investigating this for 2011 usage. Committee is researching to identify a new tool that will allow for more hands-on maintenance of the website (to address the need for regular updates). Drew made a request to secure a professional co-chair help him in his role. Drew Bishop Community Services 8-7 Derek reported that a fall reception will be held with the Israelidonije Foundation. He also announced that he will be stepping down from his position due to his relocating to Atlanta. Committee meeting next week, Tuesday. Derek Jayson Rusch Education 8-8 Michael spoke to the new education co-chairs from the Northern Illinois Chapter. Several new programs in the community colleges are being offered that warrant further research so we can offer them to our members. The Scholarship Form has been updated and is ready to be distributed. Recommendation was to send the form and the new class offerings out to the members via (including information on the FMP). Michael Galliani Hospitality 8-9 Annual meeting went very well. Committee worked hard to manage the costs (menu offering this year was reduced). Plan to research new venues for next year. In addition to the New Member reception in March the committee is looking to host a New Member breakfast in the fall. Gretchen McGinn Membership 8-10 Dave thanked everyone who helped work on the annual meeting; committee is meeting on the 18 th of this month. Dave King/Pamela Coan 4

5 Professional Development 8-11 August Brainy Bites will be hosted by Career Services. Two programs are lined up for September. Brainy Bite (09/08) will focus on Wellness Programs and the luncheon (09/16) will address Planning an Office Relocation. They need sponsors for all the Brainy Bites (except September). Christina Pagnusat/Cristina Parrilla A suggestion was made that we send out another Call for Presenters this week and weekly thereafter requesting responses by August 31 st. Several groups were suggested that the call be sent to including (but not limited to): BOMA, IFMA Chapters (NI, Central IL, Madison), USGBC, ARMA, IIDA, CoreNet, AIA and the Midwest Symposium partners. Sponsorship 8-12 Lauren reported that the committee made some edits to the sponsorship program so that the options and benefits are more streamlined and more easily communicated. Board was requested to review and provide input so they can roll it out at the sponsorship reception this month. Lauren Taylor Liaisons 8-13 No report Dom Ruggerio New Business 8-14 NeoCon Program Dom Ruggerio shared a program he judged during NeoCon; he recommended it be considered as a program or Brainy Bite topic. Logo Redesign Kevin recommended we skip the contest since all our materials are so outdated. Drew s bean design was revisited. Board will look at it again and Jerry will make sure there are no copyright infringements. September 7, 2010 Board Meeting Reminder, the next Board meeting is the Tuesday after Labor Day. Christina Pagnusat will host the September board meeting; Lauren (Bentley Print Street) will host the October Board meeting. None at this time.
