3 3 Welcome Message The Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Malaysia has an attested track record of organising large and extremely successful scientific meetings in this region. While FIGO 006, RCOG 01 and AOCOG 015 are prime examples, our annual congresses have been no less a success by any count. This time however, the Organising Committee has chosen to pitch themselves a gargantuan challenge to reset the benchmark at a new height. It is therefore with this in mind that we have chosen a novel venue and amplified the scope of our scientific content. It is without doubt, our new venue will gratify our needs in accommodating up to five parallel scientific streams and industry exhibition space that will undoubtedly satisfy all quarters. Our Scientific Chairman, Professor Raman, a pragmatic academic with vast experience in such a role, has been charged with ensuring that the congress lives up to its theme of being the proverbial melting pot of high quality evidence, clinical experience and the latest technology. All this fits appropriately with the impending mandatory requirement for all doctors in Malaysia to fulfill certain CPD requirements in order to renew their annual practicing certificates (APC). Your attendance at this single congress will ensure that this requirement is entirely met. Furthermore, in line with Malaysia s aspirations to be a regional hub for the medical specialties, the Congress will also be tailored to meet the needs of international delegates. Therefore, you can expect the academic content, venue and the social components to meet and perhaps even surpass the standard international benchmarks. Papers must not have been presented/published elsewhere. A limited number of abstracts will be scheduled for Oral/Video Presentations. The Committee reserves the right to decide on the final mode of presentation and select the abstracts relevant to the sessions. Abstracts will be published in the Final Programme/Abstract Book only upon receipt of the Registration Fees. Abstract Submission Guidelines Abstracts must be submitted in English using the Online Abstract Submission Form. Text must be typewritten in Times New Roman, font size 10. Abstracts submitted by fax, or paper copy will NOT be considered. Select your preferred mode of presentation (Oral / Video / Poster). Abstract texts should have the following structure: Objectives, Methods, Results and Conclusions. The abstract may contain up to a maximum of 50 words. Do not include graphs, tables, diagrams, pictures or references in the abstract. All abstracts regardless of final mode of presentation, should be submitted on or before 15 May 018. Please prepare the poster in A0 size, portrait orientation. Posters can be mounted on Thursday, 6 July 018 from hrs or by 0800 hrs on Friday, 7 July 018. A board will be provided, labelled with the poster number. Fixing materials will be provided. Please do not affix posters to any place other than the board to which it has been allocated, and use only the fixing material supplied. Posters should be removed by 1300 hrs on Sunday 9 July 018. Posters not removed by this time will be removed from the boards and may be destroyed. All poster presenters are also required to submit an electronic poster for the purpose of archiving.
