6 Dear Colleagues and friends, Welcome to the 6th International Tuebingen Symposium on Pediatric Solid Tumors. The Topic of our upcoming event is New Treatment Concepts in Pediatric Renal Tumors. Again, physicians and scientists from all over the world will come together to discuss the most recent developments in this field. Currently, the SIOP Renal Tumor Study Group (RTSG) in close cooperation with representatives from the North American Study Group, is in the process of establishing the next trial protocol for the treatment of renal tumors in children. The Annual Meeting of the SIOP RTSG Steering Committee will take place in Tuebingen directly before our Symposium. Consecutively, the leading international experts on pediatric renal tumors (Oncology, Surgery, Radiology, Pathology, Radio-Oncology, Biology) will be present at the 6th Tuebingen Symposium. Their contributions together will assure an outstanding scientific value of the Symposium, however, we emphatically encourage abstract submissions to share a great variety of experiences during the event. Over the years the Tuebingen Symposium on Pediatric Solid Tumors has become recognized as a comprehensive and sustainable meeting, which not only prevails through its scientific standard based on an interdisciplinary approach, but which also emerges because of its character and the cordial atmosphere at the different social events. Tuebingen in June is a magnificent city with a lot of charm and atmosphere.
