1 THE 3 rd CROATIAN SYMPOSIUM OF PEDIATRIC ANESTHESIOLOGISTS WITH INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPATION VODICE, CROATIA, 5 th AND 6 th OF OCTOBER 2018, HOTEL OLYMPIA SKY Dear colleagues, guests and friends, We are very pleased to invite you on behalf of the Pediatric Anesthesia Section of the Croatian Association for Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of the Croatian Medical Association (CAAIC-CMC) to attend the 3rd Croatian Symposium of Pediatric Anesthesiologists, which will be held on October 5th and 6th 2018 in Vodice (Croatia) along with the 8th Croatian Pediatric Surgery Congress. The topic selection includes both the current issues and the new breakthroughs in pediatric anesthesia. CROATIAN MEDICAL CHAMBER (CMC) THE PEDIATRIC ANESTHESIA SECTION OF THE CROATIAN ASSOCIATION FOR ANESTHESIOLOGY AND INTENSIVE CARE (CAAIC) The first topic is safety in pediatric anesthesia, which covers a wide area of education of anesthesiologists for pediatric anesthesia, from the minimum equipment, space and monitoring requirements, drugs/medications use, to the effects of anesthesia on the developing brain of a child. The second topic is ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia of children, where the use of ultrasound has significantly improved the safety of pediatric anesthesia and became the standard. The third topic covered includes case reports of unexpected events in pediatric anesthesia and of events that have changed our professional practices. The aim of this symposium is to exchange the know-how, our best practices and experiences, to discuss the problems encountered by anesthesiologists who regularly or occasionally administer anesthesia to children and to serve as a platform for networking with colleagues and friends.
