2 Activity Information COURSE DESCRIPTION Cerebrovascular disease and stroke management is highly complex. Healthcare providers must make time-sensitive, informed decisions about technology and treatment modalities for their patients to ensure the best possible outcomes. This multi-day symposium will address this need by providing participants with a comprehensive, clinically relevant update on advances in the recognition and treatment of cerebrovascular disease, within a learning environment that encourages the exchange of experiences and treatment approaches. This conference is designed to bring together physicians of different disciplines and expert faculty from the U.S., Canada and Asia to share experiences, research and treatment approaches in an effort to advance neurovascular care across a continuum of cultures and communities. Join your colleagues and expert faculty in cerebrovascular disease for this milestone event that will inform, engage and provide you with practical information that can be applied in care to meet the unique needs of a complex patient population. TARGET AUDIENCE Neurointerventionalists, neurosurgeons, neurologists, neurointensivists, internists, cardiologists, emergency department physicians, allied healthcare professionals and administrators will be updated on emerging treatments of stroke and neurovascular disorders. EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES Share clinical expertise, review the latest outcomes and research, and evaluate treatment approaches to cerebrovascular disease with colleagues and expert faculty Recognize differences in patient populations in the East and West when selecting optimal treatment strategies for conditions affecting circulation to the brain, including stroke and aneurysm Evaluate diagnostic neuroimaging techniques used in the detection of intracranial stenosis and carotid artery occlusions to optimize clinical decision-making Apply best practices in the diagnosis and treatment of acute stroke and the mechanisms of stroke recovery Develop treatment decisions based on the clinical status of the patient, vascular anatomy of the aneurysm, and surgical or endovascular considerations Discuss the results of CREST2 and WEAVE trial updates and the implications for the treatment of carotid atherosclerotic disease Compare and contrast diagnostic imaging techniques related to the diagnoses of cerebrovascular disease Describe current imaging and treatment for ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke Demonstrate competency in the principles of radiation protection standards to ensure patient safety Review the major risk factors associated with cerebrovascular pathologies
