2 OVERVIEW This program provides a comprehensive review of neuroradiology & best practices for neuroradiologists and general radiologists with the goal of optimizing patient care. Our program will also prepare radiologists, neurologists, and neurosurgeons for their respective certification and recertification exams. Topics will include spinal and cervicocerebral vascular disease and intervention and neoplastic and non-neoplastic disorders of the brain, spine, head and neck as well as functional MRI, perfusion and permeability imaging, molecular imaging, PET, and spectroscopy. Sunday s focus is pediatric neuroradiology with coverage of both congenital and acquired disorders, fetal MRI, pediatric head and neck, ultrasound, and radiation dose reduction. ``CANCELLATION/REFUNDS POLICY A refund for the enrollment fee, less $75, will be made upon receipt of a written request (via fax or ) received by September 26, No refunds will be made after this date. The University of Pennsylvania reserves the right to cancel or postpone any activity due to unforeseen circumstances. In the unlikely event of cancellation or postponement, the University will refund registration fees but will not be responsible for related costs or expenses to participants, including cancellation fees assessed by airlines, travel agencies and hotels.
3 ``MEETING MATERIALS In the week leading up to the course, pre-registered participants will receive an with a link to a pre-test and instructions to access the course lecture slides. If you wish to follow along using a tablet, we encourage you to download the slides before arriving at the course as Internet in the meeting room will not be available. A flash drive containing lecture content will be distributed onsite to all registered participants. ``CERTIFICATES AND TRANSCRIPTS A follow-up will be sent approximately one week after the course concludes with instructions for completing the post-test course questionnaire and procedure to access your CME certificate. SAM documentation will be sent separately four weeks following the course. 5 COMPREHENSIVE NEURORADIOLOGY: BEST PRACTICES The Westin Philadelphia OCTOBER 27-30, 2016 COURSE OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to: Describe current concepts in imaging of disorders of the brain, spine, skull base, neck, and cerebral/cervical/ spinal vasculature Identify clinically relevant findings on CT and MR imaging studies of patients requiring emergent treatment of infectious/inflammatory/ischemic/ traumatic conditions affecting the brain, spine, spinal cord, skull base, orbits, temporal bones, face, neck, and associated vasculature Apply multiple state-of-the-art imaging modalities to differentiate neoplastic from non-neoplastic disorders of the CNS, head and neck, and spine Discuss techniques for radiation dose reduction in CT protocols Discuss current best practices in the imaging and management of vascular lesions of head, neck and spine, potential complications of those therapies, and imaging of the post-operative patient Identify anomalies on prenatal US and MRI examinations Describe the anatomy as it pertains to surgical landmarks of the nasopharynx, oropharynx, oral cavity, larynx, and hypopharynx as well as analyze patterns of spread of upper aerodigestive tract malignancies
