2 DRAFT SUMMARY Municipal Maintenance Subcommittee Meeting Mission Blue Community Center Brisbane Meeting Date: January 25, 2017 Subcommittee Actions: 1. Agreed that the summary of the November 2016 subcommittee meeting was acceptable. Requested Stormwater Committee Action or Feedback/Guidance (if any): None Other Information/Announcements: Joint Meeting. This was a joint meeting with the IPM/Parks Maintenance Subcommittee. The annual SMCWPPP IPM Training will be held March 8, Registration information will be ed to the IPM/Parks Maintenance Subcommittee in the future. Pesticide Tracking. The group discussed how permittees are meeting the MRP Provision C.9 reporting requirements for IPM strategies and monitoring contractors implementing IPM. New Annual Report requirements will be to report a) pesticides of concern usage by amount of active ingredient, not by amount of product, b) quantities of three new pesticides of concern (indoxacarb, diuron and diamides) and c) if your municipality contracts with a pest control service, verification that your municipality evaluated the contractor s list of pesticides and amounts of active ingredients. A SMCWPPP Pesticide Tracking Excel Workbook template was developed for agencies to use if they do not already have a pesticide data management system. The objective of the template is to provide a tracking method for reporting trends and quantities of pesticide active ingredients used required by MRP Provision C.9.a.iii.(3). The tracking template will specifically identify the urban use pesticides of concern to water quality that are identified in C.9. However, it also provides the ability to track other active ingredients. Agencies that do not use the tracking table may still find the DPR Pesticide List worksheet (i.e., tab) useful. This worksheet includes all of the active pesticides, or pesticides that expired after July 1, 2014, in the DPR database as of October This list includes the pesticide names, EPA registration number, active ingredients and identifies if the active ingredient is one of the MRP pesticides of concern. The draft Excel Workbook will be ed to the Municipal Maintenance Subcommittee and the IPM/Parks Maintenance Subcommittee. People interested in a more detailed description of how to use the tracking template can sign up for a WebEx meeting. Open Forum Discussion on Maintenance Issues. o The group discussed possible trash management options and full trash capture device options that could work on a small one way street. o The group discussed experience with entering into agreements with Caltrans. 3 o Brian Weber, San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District, offered to partner with cities to pick up trash in creeks. District staff will conduct the creek cleanup if the city provides the supplies (e.g., trash bags) and picks up the collected trash. Interested cities can contact Brian Kristin will Brian s contact information to the Subcommittee. Brian also mentioned the District has a new data management system and they are geo-coding all of the catch basins in the County, including inlets in parking lots, apartment complexes and landscaped areas. They have 20,000 inlets mapped so far. The District will share this data with any cities that are interested. o Discussed the draft Annual Report form for Section C.2 and the changes to the Corporation Yard Inspection reporting.
