5 STEP 1: HIIT it Up The first step to maximizing your HGH levels is exercise. There are actually two types, but let's focus on this one first - High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). HIIT basically means going all-out, at 100% intensity, for a short period of time during anaerobic exercise, and then resting for a moment, before going all-out again. The most basic form would be sprint intervals, where you sprint as fast as you possibly can for 20 seconds, and then jog slowly for 30 seconds. Why is this better? Well, when you're jogging, swimming or walking, you're essentially doing a form of low intensity cardio. This works your body's slow twitch muscle fibers, which isn't ideal for maximizing HGH. It's better than nothing, but think of HIIT as cranking it up to 11. During a HIIT workout, you're working your fast twitch muscle fibers and putting your body through its paces. Micro tears (essential for muscle growth) will be created in your muscles during one of these workouts, and anabolic hormones like testosterone and HGH are produced to repair the damage. This helps your muscles grow bigger and stronger. HIIT can be done in a variety of ways. Sprinting is the easiest place to start, but you can do anything, including dumbbell complexes, bodyweight circuits or maximum-intensity jumps. Anything that leaves you in a puddle of sweat in a short amount of time. It is one of the best ways to increase the levels of HGH in your body on a short-term basis. Studies have shown that people who do HIIT had two to three times the levels of it the day following the training session. This happens as your body tries to repair itself from the stress put on it by the training session, supercharging your fat-burning, metabolism and HGH levels. 6 STEP 2: Lactic Acid Training This is another exercise method that can help maximize your HGH levels - lactic acid training. It is what will cause you to get that deep burn in your muscles. Let's use bicep curls as an example. Instead of lifting heavy weights in the low rep range (say 4 to 6), try lowering the weight slightly and doing between 15 and 20 (or more) reps. This will definitely get you feeling the burn. This type of training has been shown to increase the nitric oxide levels in your blood by a significant degree, and get your body to produce even more HGH to help you recover. Another way you can do this is to apply the same principles to exercises that work more than one muscle group, instead of just focusing on one. The biceps were an example of a small muscle group, but if you want to get even more HGH in your system, it is recommended that you do big compound lifts, such as squats, deadlifts and bench presses. In a deadlift, for example, you work your lower back, glutes, legs and abs. 7 STEP 3: Lower Your Carbs, Up Your Protein This will have a huge impact on your HGH levels, and it's all because of how insulin reacts with it. Insulin is what your pancreas releases when you have a spike in blood sugar. The thing is that HGH levels will lower when it is released. When you consume high-glycemic carbohydrates, you are spiking your blood sugar as they are broken down in the body, forcing down your levels of human growth hormone at the same time. Something that needs to be kept in mind whenever you're eating simple, refined carbs, is that you are sabotaging the anti-aging and fat burning properties of HGH. The best thing you can do to stop this is to avoid carbs two to three hours before you go to sleep. This is because when you enter your REM sleep cycle, you are producing growth hormone, and you do not want to have its effect countered by high levels of insulin in your blood. So what do you eat instead? Lean protein, such as poultry or fish, are good options for dinner. Make sure they are high in arginine and citrulline. Eggs are another great example of a slow-release protein that has essential amino acids, zero carbohydrates and that helps increase the release of anabolic hormones in the body. In fact, just ensure you up your protein intake and lower your carbs for every meal. To avoid spiking your insulin levels, carbs should be consumed in the early part of the day instead preferably after you have finished a training session and even then you should make sure that you only consume high-fiber, slow-release carbs, such as oatmeal, quinoa or brown rice. Avoid refined stuff like white rice or really starchy foods, like potatoes. Sugar is another thing to stay as far away from as you can, because it will definitely spike your levels of insulin. So avoid that very tempting dessert at dinner time as much as you can. 8 STEP 4: Shrimp Before Bed Try and get yourself a serving of shrimp before you go to bed at night. This is a neat little trick to maximize your HGH levels. These delicious morsels are really high in arginine, which helps to enhance growth hormone levels and promote its production. STEP 5: Consume BCAAs and L-arginine This is a really interesting tip. A recent study discovered that when people consume a combination of branched chain amino acids (BCAAs) and something else, they managed to increase their HGH levels by as much as 700%. The combination? Participants were given a combo of L-arginine and the branched chain amino called leucine. Leucine is one the most important amino acids, especially when it comes to increasing protein synthesis in the body, making it easier to reduce fat levels and build lean muscle mass, as protein is the main building block of your muscles. Good BCAA supplements have a combination of leucine, isoleucine and valine, so it's recommended that you look into getting one of those. They come in either pill or powder form. When you combine leucine with L-arginine, you improve the nitric oxide levels in your body, and help your pituitary gland produce more HGH. So by consuming no calories at all, they'd pushed their production into overdrive. If you've never practiced fasting before, the idea of a 24-hour fast might seem like a daunting task, but it is actually really easy. Right out of the gate, you can count 8 hours of it as easy, since you're fasting when you're asleep. Something that helps is to drink a lot of fluids. Coffee, tea and water are good options, as are BCAAs, as they help prevent muscle breakdown during a fast.
