According to the demographic statistics for 2010, Muslims take up around 23.4% of global population and it is expected to reach about 26.4% in the per capita GDP growth rate of muslims recorded over 6% for the last decade surpassing the world 's average GDP growth rate. Recently, the concept of Halal, which originated in religion, has been expanded to a healthy way of consuming the food and many global companies including Nestle, KFC, etc. are advancing to the Halal market competitively by developing new nature-friendly products and brands. Also many counties such as UAE, Malaysia and Indonesia are speeding up in the Halal Standardization and legalization work to take the initiative in the fastest-growing market in the world. Korean government is showing strong will to nurture the halal industry in Korea and to support Korean companies in their advancements to overseas halal market also.
