1 The Sensory Gym and Camp Jabiru Proudly Present The Camp Jabiru Symposium: Perspectives on Sensory Modulation and Regulation: What we know from the science and how this informs our treatment approach April 6-7, 2019 Windsor, NSW The Jabiru Symposium, a new offering from the Camp Jabiru Team. Camp Jabiru offers a unique gathering of occupational therapists dedicated to a deep dive of understanding how to best support children who struggle with a variety of needs, with the commonality that occupational therapy offers a perspective and approach that can fundamentally shift the trajectory of these children. Camp Jabiru is also unique in how it brings together master clinicians to work together with experienced therapists, new therapists and students into a shared experience wherein mentoring, learning, growing by doing is happening in a supportive community of professional growth. Capitalizing on the gathering of master clinicians, the Jabiru Symposium offers a think-tank format wherein core concepts of theory and practice are shared across the range of perspectives represented. This format offers insight for clinical practice and inspiration to fuel professional engagement. The First Jabiru Symposium will grapple with the concepts of Sensory Modulation and offer perspectives on this continually evolving area of practice that is the window into regulation - a foundation for development and therefore a key concept for treatment in paediatric occupational therapy.
