2 The Advent of Immunotherapy in Cancer Therapy October 17 18, 2013 COURSE INFORMATION COURSE OVERVIEW The aim of the two-day program, presented by staff and invited speakers, is to highlight developments in the clinical care of patients and provide useful insights into ongoing cancer research at the Center. TARGET AUDIENCE The intended audience is comprised of members of the Memorial Hospital Alumni Society (physicians who have trained at Memorial Sloan-Kettering for six months or more and staff members who have been at MSKCC for six months or more), any current medical staff, and physicians trained elsewhere who wish to attend. These physicians include medical oncologists, pathologists, radiation oncologists, surgeons, and allied scientists. EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES The course objective is to advance and disseminate knowledge of cancer, with the sharing of objectives between community physicians and the Center. The goal is also to inform primary care clinicians about current approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of cancers. COURSE DESIGN This course is comprised of lectures and discussions, encouraging the exchange of ideas between faculty and participants. ACCREDITATION is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. CME CREDIT DESIGNATION STATEMENT designates this conference for a maximum of 14 ½ hours in Category 1 credit toward the AMA Physician s Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit he/she actually spent in the conference.
3 DISCLOSURE POLICY STATEMENT relies on faculty participants in its CME Program to provide educational information that is objective and as free from bias as possible. In accordance with the nationally accepted guidelines, faculty members are asked to indicate any commercial relationship that might be perceived as a real or apparent conflict of interest. REGISTRATION Pre-registration is preferred. The fee for Alumni Society Members is $ for the two-day program, $50.00 for one day (pathologists only), and $ for outside physicians. Registration for MSKCC staff is free of charge with MSKCC ID. Registration will begin promptly at 7:20 a.m. in the lobby of the Rockefeller Research Laboratories,following breakfast. The fee includes breakfast and buffet luncheon Thursday, two coffee breaks, and CME certification. ALUMNI RECEPTION AND DINNER DANCE The Annual Reception and Dinner Dance takes place at the New York Marriott East Side, located at 525 Lexington Avenue at 49th Street, the evening of Thursday, October 17, Tickets are $125 per person and are reserved for alumni, staff, and their guests only. Current fellows are invited to attend at a reduced rate and will need to reserve a ticket with the alumni office. PATHOLOGY ALUMNI ANNUAL MEETING This meeting commences Friday, October, 18, 2013, at 9:15 a.m. It is open to all Memorial Hospital alumni. The Annual Pathology Alumni Dinner will be held at The Water Club, The East River at 30th Street. Contact Donna Bauer in the Pathology Department at or bauerd@mskcc.org to purchase tickets. COURSE LOCATION The Scientific Sessions will be held in the Arlene and Arnold Goldstein Auditorium of the Rockefeller Research Laboratories. The Pathology Slide Seminar will also be held in the Auditorium.
