If it hasn t already, breast cancer will touch you or someone you know. The disease will strike more than 200,000 times this year and claim over 40,000 lives over 2,400 right here in Florida. This year, our goal is to raise over $150,000 in our fundraising efforts for Panama City s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. We need your help! 6 Together We Are Helping Others in Need Making A Difference The dollars raised through MSABC are used by the American Cancer Society to fight breast cancer on four fronts: to fuel the most promising breast cancer research; to spread lifesaving breast cancer awareness messages; to advocate for screening opportunities for all people; and to ease the cancer burden for people facing breast cancer. The American Cancer Society serves cancer patients, survivors, their families and others who need up-to-date, reliable cancer information and support. We offer: A toll-free cancer information service available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at providing comprehensive cancer information in a variety of languages, as well as Spanish-speaking information specialist and oncology nurses. A state of the art Web site with tools to help guide patients and their families through treatment and recovery. Cancer Survivors Network, an online community where patients, survivors, and caregivers share experiences to inspire strength and hope. Reach to Recovery, a support program that pairs trained breast cancer survivors with patients to provide guidance through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Road to Recovery, a program provides transportation to and from treatment for people who have cancer who do not have a ride or are unable to drive themselves. Volunteer drivers donate their time and the use of their cars so that patients can receive the life-saving treatments they need. Look Good...Feel Better, helping patients cope with changes in appearance and the side effects of cancer treatment.
